From secure borders to functioning cities, America is shedding the hard-won pillars of civilization—by choice, not chance—in a sweeping, top-down descent into disorder.
Secure borders and stationary populations were considered the mark of emerging civilization by classical historians. In contrast to nomadism and constant strife over disputed territory, peoples who had clearly defined and protected borders ascended to statehood, maintained a distinct culture, and achieved greater prosperity and security.
In contrast, what we suffered from 2021 to 2025 was unprecedented. It was an intentional administration effort to de-civilize the nation by destroying its borders—as if to return to the premodern era, when there were no clearly defined or secure borders, and nomadic peoples migrated as they pleased.
Stranger still, illegal aliens were at times given precedence over citizens—as immigration law was simply discarded.
Without IDs, illegal aliens boarded U.S. flights, while the government ordered citizens to obtain more secure “real” IDs.
Some 8,500 veteran soldiers were drummed out of the military for refusing the experimental mRNA vaccinations. Yet 10 million simply walked across the southern border into America, without a care from the Biden administration whether they were vaccinated, ill, or had criminal records.
Any American citizen pulled over for speeding with an invalid driver’s license, while trafficking eight illegal aliens without identification, would be jailed and charged with felony counts. Not Abrego Garcia—the violent spousal abuser, M-13 gang-member, and previously deported illegal alien. He was neither arrested nor even cited by the officers who pulled him over.
One of the great hallmarks of Roman civilization and subsequent Western civilization was its ability to create large cities by importing clean water, removing waste through sewers, and collecting garbage from the streets. Even in the age before microbiology, ancient and premodern city planners knew the connection between cleanliness and epidemics

Whether we like it or not all but one class of people in America are tribal - the class of people with LEAST tribalist traits - White men. All other groups almost always put the tribe ahead of the overall society...which was why they were initially kept out of government. Sadly, it’s probably too late now to fix it.

Yes. The word for it is decadence.
It is the decadence of Western Civilization in America.
The decay erupted like a bubo as the counter-culture movement of the 1960's. It has since infected millions of people.
Can decadence be reversed once it has infected a nation and restore that nation to ascendancy? Donald Trump believes that it can be. In fact, so convinced was he that he risked everything--a considerable amount in his case--to save his beloved USA from the decadence and its inexorable destruction.
The MAGA movement is the anti-decadence movement.
The USA is locked in a Manichaean struggle between the forces of decadence and the forces of ascendancy, between the forces of evil and the forces of good. Should the forces of decadence and evil prevail, America will be destroyed.

Not quite, but you and I probably think a lot alike. Dig a little deeper into the root cause. You can see it in Romans 1:18-32. It begins with doubting God doesn't exist, even though it's obvious that He does (v. 18-23). That's the battle we need to win. That's the root cause of our problems. When our culture reaches that point of thinking it's smart to say God doesn't exist, He removes part of His protecting hand over our sin nature and we get into sexual immorality (vs. 24-25). The modern sexual revolution is originated in doubting God's existence. And if we still don't get the picture, Got lets our sin nature gets worse and it becomes normal in culture to get into homo mess (vs. 26-27). That's where we are now and probably already one foot into even the next phase.
Because if the homo mess in our culture isn't enough to learn us dern us to bring us back to Him, God lets us get even more depraved (vs 28-32).
Respectfully, fellow FReeper, I think we don't need to win the culture battle so much with sexual immorality as we do with atheism and agnosticism or any worship of the creation instead of the Creator. Us losing that battle is the origin of the snowball effect. The sexual immorality itself is a symptom more than a cause.
And don’t forget that requiring photo identification is racist. Minorities are incapable of procuring photo identification. /s

Yet I failed to see how Paul VI's birth control document somehow overwrites the Apostle Paul's Romans 1 teaching about the decline of civilization beginning with denying the existence of God. In fact, we have historical basis for this being true. Look at the 18th century rise in atheism that was followed by the 18th century sexual revolution (more like devolving to me than revolution LOL). This was before birth control pills, IUD's and even condoms. Later in the 20th century we had the Scopes Monkey trials and the celebration of Darwin's Origin of Species centennial in 1959, followed of course by the sexual revolution. And, of course, look at the sexual revolution that the Greco-Roman culture had experienced in Paul's day when he wrote Romans.
The common factor in all of these historical sexual devolving of culture was the moving away from belief in God. The Apostle Paul knew what he was talking about (obviously). That's why his answer wasn't to tell married couples to avoid condoms and the pill. His solution was in Romans 1:16-17 in being unashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for in the Gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed.
