oh yes absolutely.
Lets not get excited and make sure we’re directing fire at the right targets.

Deep State is still deeply entrenched.

How dare you? Interjecting rational thinking into a thread specifically designed to bring out anger and knee jerking?

He probably cancelled the vote on this because there are some RINOs who won’t support it. They need to twist arms til they break to round up the votes.

All Trump would have to do is threaten to form a new political party.

The question is: WHO is holding out against the recission package? Who and how many? The leadership supports the rescissions and I imagine that virtually the entire caucus has signed on. The vote wouldn’t have been scheduled otherwise. But someone has popped up to play dog in the manger. Again.

The problem with cutting a deal to bring along the holdouts is that this opens the floodgates. The wreckers get rewarded and the good guys get played for chumps. The deal gets blown up and Humpty Dumpty can’t be put back together again.

Then, after six months of helpless futility and total paralysis, the next Speaker gets to try it again. Rinse and repeat until someone with truly superior Jedi mind powers gets elected Speaker. “Help us, Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re our only hope.”

In Congress, the majority of Republicans are Democrats.

None of the Democrats are Republicans.

The constant use of the terms “Democrats” and “Republicans” around here is misleading, since in most cases they are people engaged in a joint enterprise.

Your phrase “Most Republicans are Democrats” is meaningless. Most Republicans are nothing, as are most Democrats.

Never again vote republican.

I share the sentiment.

However, what’s our alternative?

Many people disgusted with the Republican Party are the same people who for decades have opposed supporting development of a viable third party alternative.

Well, primary the bastards is often cited as the solution.
So, how’s that been working out for us?

Trump will be legally required to release the money back to the agencies.

Uh, no, actually. The money was being spent for waste and fraud. He can simply demand to know what lawful public purpose the money is to be spent on. Trump has the constitutional charge take care that the laws be faithfully executed.

For sure a lot of people are going to stay home for the mid terms if nothing happens.
