This is an ancient and very deep feud that will be simmering despite a cease fire, which I suspect is temporary, something minor will likely trigger the fighting to resume.
Nukes will be used at some point which will be devastating and have a very large impact, just as the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant disaster.

You are correct on that, millions were killed when both nations were formed just from the populations migrating.
Let them fight it out till the end, even if it includes nuclear weapons. Yes there would be fallout world wide, but the Russian Tsar bomb explosion was larger than the total nuclear yields these country’s have and we are still here.
The loss of life would be regrettable, but they are determined to hate each other, maybe tens of millions of deaths they might figure out to stop.
Quite possibly, but the HBM (Has Been Media) will never give him credit for it.
