At least three people have died and five more were wounded Sunday after multiple shooters opened fire at an Arizona restaurant, police said.
The shooting at El Camarón Gigante in downtown Glendale began as a fight between "at least two groups of people" near the restaurant's stage area, Glendale police said in a statement Monday. The people involved were told to go outside, spurring another altercation, which ended in gunfire, police said.
The three victims were identified only as a 17-year-old male, a 21-year-old man and a 29-year-old, police said Monday. The 17- and 29-year-old males were brothers.
Wounded were two women, ages 20 and 21; two men, ages 20 and 23; and a 16-year-old male. Police said the teenager "was in surgery overnight due to his injuries, but he is expected to make a full recovery."
"First and foremost, our deepest condolences to those who were killed during this senseless act of violence. We also hope those who were injured recover quickly and as painlessly as possible." Jose Miguel Santiago, a police spokesperson, said in the news release.
Santiago added that authorities are "doing everything humanly possible to arrest those responsible" and give the families the justice they deserve. He said that although there were multiple shooters, it was an "isolated incident that involved individuals that were known to one another."
Police said the fight broke out inside El Camarón Gigante, where a concert or a car show was taking place, at around 7:45 p.m. local time.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Viva la Mexico!
My guess is this Cinco de Mayo violence was the result of different factions aurguing over whether soft tacos are better than hard tacos. Machismo demands that the only way to settle the issue was with pistols.
Since the 17-year-old and the 29-year-old were brothers, you could say that’s one way to clean the gene pool ... and this must’ve been a Quatro-de-Mayo celebration ...
Glendale’s actually a nice town. I used to live up the street from the downtown area off Glendale Ave. in Phoenix.
I take my daughter to real car shows. The ones with McLaren, Bugatti, Hennessy, Ferrari, Lamborghini. No violence there. The few Classic car shows I have seen also are relaxed and pleasant. Arizona is great for car shows.

One gang bumped into another gang?

I have been to the Barrett Jackson Car Show in Scottsdale on several occasions. Very upscale and attended by well-mannered attendees. I can just about guarantee this restaurant and “car show” in Glendale did not attract the same kind of crowd.
My daughter loves Barrett-Jackson, but even the free monthly “Cars and Coffee” events in Scottsdale attract a better crowd.

Arrowhead lakes in north Glendale is nice, downtown Glendale has always been a shithole in the 30+ years I’ve lived here
I get really annoyed by people who insist on putting hyphens in all their numbers. It’s correct to say he is 17 years old, no hyphens are needed. It is correct to describe someone as a 17-year-old but describing someone as an age is more useful if he is a child. You would not need any hyphens if you say a 17 year old man. Or a two year old child. You could correctly say a 17 year old man was a like a two-year-old.
Also this is probably the third story I have read about this event and still I don’t know anything about what happened except the statistics of the numbers injured and killed and what sex they were assigned to.
