Monterey, Calif. — Monterey police reported the arrest of two women for their alleged involvement in thousands of dollars' worth of graffiti at Steinbeck Plaza.
On Wednesday, around 8:07 a.m., officers received a call about extensive graffiti vandalism at Steinbeck Plaza on Cannery Row.

Where they gonna get the money to clean up the mess? As long as it’s from a different account they can always increase it the following year. Think the broken window theory/nip this in the bud.
Over the past few months I’ve been rereading some of Steinbeck’s works. They’re not nearly as good as I remember them, or as wonderful as critics claim. But he did do a decent job of capturing a very specific time and place.
Canary Row was good. I used to live on Ricketts Rd in Monterey. Cool place.
