BREAKING: President Trump Opens the Door to Suspending Habeas Corpus, an Aggressive Move Used by Three Previous Presidents, to Conduct Mass Deportations of Illegals (VIDEO)

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, President Trump and his team held a cabinet meeting Wednesday. Team Trump spent a good portion of the meeting touting the president’s impressive record on issues ranging from immigration to the economy.

Liberal reporters present at the meeting responded by peppering the Trump Administration with several silly questions, including about MS-13 gangster Kilmar Abrego Garcia. But an actual journalist stepped up and asked a question concerning activist judges outrageously continuing to handcuff Trump’s executive powers, particularly on deporting illegals.

The reporter cited the rampant abuse of injunctions by radical-left judges to sabotage Trump’s immigration policies and inquired whether the president has considered alternative paths to outwitting these judges.

“Have you spoken to your chief about ways to mitigate this and continue to deliver for the American people?” the reporter asked.

Trump responded by floating an idea that’s been previously used by presidents Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt: suspending the writ of habeas corpus.

“There are some very strong ways to mitigate it (the injunctions),” Trump replied. “One way that’s been used by three very highly respected Presidents, but we hope we don’t have to go that route.”

BREAKING: President Trump hints at suspending the Writ of Habeas Corpus to conduct mass deportations

2 days ago I went to the White House Press Briefing and asked if President Trump planned to suspend the writ of habeas corpus to circumvent radical judges blocking his mass… pic.twitter.com/CRVekWa8MD

As The National Constitution Center notes, suspending habeas corpus entails temporarily suspending an individual’s legal rights to be brought before a court to challenge their detention. This right of habeas corpus, which is protected by the Constitution in Article I, Section 9, allows an individual to seek release from unlawful imprisonment.

The government is allowed to suspend habeas corpus in cases of rebellion or invasion, or if the public safety requires it. Considering there are over 11 million</> illegal aliens residing in America and so-called judges are sabotaging Trump’s efforts to deport them, one could argue the president would be justified in suspending habeas corpus.

Rogan O’Handley, aka DC Draino, proposed this exact approach during a White House press briefing last week. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded that Trump is open to all legal and constitutional remedies.

BREAKING: DC DRAINO, aka Rogan O’Handley, asks the FIRST QUESTION at today’s White House press briefing… he asks if Trump should do what Lincoln did and suspend habeas corpus – but only for illegal aliens.

This was a GREAT question.@DC_Draino: “In Trump’s first 99 days,… pic.twitter.com/dDShwBLSfF

This would be a wrong move. It plays right into Leftist’s hands and sets a very bad precedent.

I am all in for suspending Habeas Corpus on matters of Immigration/State Department Deportation orders.

There is no reason to suspend ALL Habeas Corpus.

He just needs to do what he did in his 1st term, just deport them, no need for any presidential act, just deport them and thats it

The devil is in the details.

No US citizen can have habeas suspended due to “administrative error”.

Arrest the DRats in Congress and in the cities and states who are stonewalling the President’s agenda. Then go after the seditionists in the universities. Make examples of some RINOS while we’re at it.

Considering there are over 11 million illegal aliens residing in America

There were 11 million illegal aliens in the US back in 2008. That was 17 years ago. It's funny how that "authorized" number never moves.

There is already precedent for suspension of habeas corpus. In fact, three specific instances in our history, starting with Lincoln.
It’s the right move.

That same number was used in 1990’s during bill clinton’s term.

The difference between Lincoln and FDR on the one hand, and DJT on the other, is that both Lincoln and FDR had huge Senate and House majorities and DJT has neither.

The powers of the President (during a legal term in office) are not defined and can be almost without limit - like dispersing a Legislature, invading sovereign States, cancelling contracts, redefining legal tender and the value of money, putting US citizens in concentration camps, etc.

But all that depends on strong support in both Houses of Congress, which Trump does not have. And it’s Congress, not the President, that has legal, Constitutional authority to suspend the writ.

For Trump to do what needs to be done, he will have to cross the Rubicon - and that’s very, very unlikely to happen.

Re-read my post. I posted specifically about US citizens being caught up in this due to an administrative error.

Funny how the illegals are getting more due process rights and legal representation than Americans did during Covid. Do most Americans really think illegals deserve any rights under the Constitution? They think they deserve more!
