Fifth-generation ranchers Charles and Heather Maude make their living raising cattle and hogs on the wide plains of western South Dakota. Since 1907, Charles’s family has been on the land where they now farm thousands of acres.

The good news is that while the Maudes had no immediate recourse for this roughshod treatment under the Biden administration, the Trump administration sees its role as representing rather than ruling Americans.
Reminds me of,why I voted for Trump
I hope a director like Mel Gibson makes a movie out of this all too real story. Mel would know how to best tell it. Definitely not a director like Q. Tarrantino. Way too much gratuitous violence. I knew nothing about the Maudes until this here article.
Good fences make good neighbors and with the Federal Government even though they had some sort of word-of-mouth agreement I would have made double sure of my land boundaries.
For years, -people were tortured by the government over wetlands. I sat at on of the meetings. The questions was...How could a peach orchard be a wetland. Well, the government said so...that’s how it happened. Thank goodness the Court finally ruled that the wetland determinations in many cases...were not wetlands in fact.
This is great news. I hope that the Government compensate them for the misery and harassment they were put through.
I hope the employees of the govt HAVE TO PAY.
Somehow, someone in the bureaucracy deemed responsible for this malfeasance must be fired and humiliated. Who do they think they are, District judges?
Another Bundy standoff.
Plenty of Feds need to be shown the door.
I live next to Federal land they are not good neighbors.
They are very willing to use their big stick.
This kind of sh!t has been going on for decades. As far back as Bush 41, I’ve read about it. Under Biden I suspect it would have escalated to Holodomor American Style, had he or Kamala been elected.
G-d bless Orange Man Great!
Clint Eastwood might be good, too.
Big puddle on the driveway made it a wetland, because some geese might want to stop there during annual migration. I remember only too well.
A farmer had carved out a pond to feed his farm animals...Yes..those ahs declared it a wetland.
Clint has directed some fine movies, but come May 31st, he will be 95 years old. Financing, writing, directing, producing , insuring, auditioning the actors, doing anything close to a completed movie, at that age is asking a lot of anyone.
Even Charlie Chaplin had stopped directing by age 77, a year before his death.
I used to have a driveway with a big puddle. Fortunately, neither the feds nor the geese found out about it. Besides, Jamaica Bay was right down the street, and JFK International in case one of them decided to crash a jet plane (the geese, not the feds).
Clint is still making movies and recently another baby.

I think Mel Brookes is still producing cartoons. George Burns made it to 100.
The land I lived on had a pond on it with some farm equipment on the shore.
We received a tremendous rain storm and some of the equipment was partially in the water .
Yup...the government showed up and demanded the equipment be pulled back
The press conference today featuring the Maude family almost brought tears to my eyes. The Maudes are your classic conservative farming family. No wonder the Biden administration went after them so hard. Those in Biden’s DOJ responsible for that travesty should be fired, prosecuted, and jailed.
Watch it if you have a chance.
