Europe ‘would struggle to put 25,000 troops on the ground in Ukraine
The times ^

Europe would struggle to collectively muster 25,000 troops to be part of a “deterrence” force in Ukraine because its armies are undermanned and underfunded, sources have disclosed.

The Times was given a rare insight into conversations between Europe’s defence ministers and military chiefs as they thrashed out plans for a “coalition of the willing” force.

Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, the British chief of the defence staff, is said to have asked his counterparts on the Continent if they could put together a 64,000-strong force to send to the country in the event of a peace deal.

The source pointed out that the British Army, which is steadily shrinking, was also suffering from an artillery shortage and problems with “enablers”, such as supply trucks and other equipment they would normally receive from America.

The reluctance among European countries to send ground troops to protect Ukraine is understood to have led to a shift in thinking about what the force would look like should there be a peace deal

Round up every unemployed immigrant aged 16 to 60. Give each a helmet and rifle.

Ship them straight to the front lines, where they will receive on-the-job training.

We seriously need to get out of NATO. We have been suckers for decades.

That’s about 2 divisions. All of Europe can’t field 2 divisions.

That is the scale of their freeloading on America for decades.

On the ground perhaps, but the EU would quickly gain total air dominance across UKR, and then bomb the Russian ground troops to dust.

Yup. Not to mention we pay our soldiers in Europe with our tax dollars that they spend in foreign economies.

I assume that Finland and Poland are not involved in the discussion. They have formidable armies.

The EU has a population of 450 million.

They can’t muster 25,000 total troops when the British would provide 10,000.

The European Union is an EMpire of Clowns.

Canada out of NATO now !

As a girl, and of Irish descent, so there is that propensity to be near a fist fight, I have always been instructed and well advised to stay out of it

With that wisdom in mind, what the hell is Europe getting talked about this way. And the euros have zero intention of getting involved

Poland and the Baltic states have opted out because they are already on the front line with Russia. Hungary and Slovakia don’t want to support Ukraine. That leaves the rest of the E.U. states to field some troops, which would likely be stationed in Western Ukraine and the Belarusian border while Ukrainians continue to man the Russian front.

STOP PUTTING TROOPS ON THE GROUND and killing the people. Put Putin and Zel in a room w all the guns they want and let THEM fight to the death. Stop letting the citizens die for YOUR WAR. You want war do it yourself. Also no other country should get involved. Let the 2 leaders fight to the death NOT sending others to their death.

Europe is going to need their armies at home once the muzzies start flexing even more.

“On the ground perhaps, but the EU would quickly gain total air dominance across UKR, and then bomb the Russian ground troops to dust.”

Is this because Russia does not have good air defense, or because you’re having dreams again?

The EUSSR is a useless ally that only excels at stealing our money and shooting their mouths off.

If men are dying in this conflict at the rate of several thousand per week, it won’t take very long to kill every soldier sent by the combined European army. As the coffins are shipped back by the trainload, let’s see how serious the EU governments will remain to lose their own young men and women by the score in this relentless slaughter.
