New Yorkers would be forced to pay 2.5 times the market rate for electricity generated by the Empire Wind One offshore wind farm if the deal goes through, according to an independent financial analysis.

The Trump Administration paused construction of the controversial project — 54 turbines in the Atlantic Ocean some 14 miles south of Long Island — last week, saying it needs further review. The project has seen strong backing from Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams.

Trump’s move was welcomed by those who claim the project is going to overcharge taxpayers.

“New Yorkers are entitled to clean, affordable, reliable energy,” Christina Kramer, president of Protect Our Coast Long Island New York, told The Post. “And this is none of those things.”

I feel sorry for New Yorkers in a way; but in a way I don't.

Mostly I don't.

HAHAHA you voted for it deal with it

Given what we know about election fraud, NGO political funding, and the permanence of one-party rule in places like CA, IL, and NY - did people really vote for it?

I did not used to care for New Yorkers then 9/11 came. For a short while, I cared only to see them turn on the rest of us.

I won’t be fooled again. If the entire city fell into the sea, I would think “see ya, wouldn’t want to be ya”.

We likely didn’t vote for it.

The Deep State cesspool thar is Albany us in dire need of draining.

On the subject of electricity, though...

Why are NYSEG human meter readers checking smart meters...?

And if the rumors I’m hearing about the problems with the smart meters are correct, I have one more question...

Where are federal bigfeet when you need them?

If Gotham would vote for this, why does NYC now have RCV for mayorals?

Our utility did a survey (hit hard by the lefties of course) asking if people would be willing to pay more for renewables. A majority said they would.
Who reads all the stuff from the electric utility beyond your bill, unless you knew a survey was coming?
But those people harp on it, and with a couple friendly board members making policy... You get idiocy.
