TRUMP TO LET PUTIN KEEP SEIZED LAND FROM UKRAINE
Telegraph [PayWall] ^ | April 23 | David Blair Chief Foreign Affairs Commentator

Donald Trump will let Vladimir Putin keep almost all the territory he has seized from Ukraine under the terms of a proposed peace deal.

The condition is part of a seven-point plan to end the war that leaves Ukraine with no clear US security guarantee.

It was due to be discussed in London on Wednesday, when US officials would hear Kyiv’s reaction, though the talks were downgraded when US secretary of state Marco Rubio pulled out.

Foreign ministers from the UK, France, Germany and Ukraine withdrew in an apparent response. Discussions were instead scheduled to take place between senior officials from those nations and the US.

The Trump administration’s peace proposal involves the US offering formal recognition of Russian sovereignty over Crimea and implies de facto recognition of other occupied territories.

This would mean freezing the current front line, allowing Putin to keep almost all the territory Russia has gained.

The plan does include some changes in Ukraine’s favour. Russia would give up two small areas currently occupied by its troops.

Ukraine would regain unhindered access to the mouth of the Dnieper river and Russia would withdraw from a second area of Kherson province.

That’s how it was always going to be. There was a big chance that had we jaw-jawed with him, he wouldn’t have gotten so much land in the end.

Trump has more important things to deal with domestic and foreign.

Russia is better on friendly terms with the US as the challenge of China is faced.

The idea that Putin was ever going to give up the Crimea without a fight is laughable, Trump or no Trump. The Crimea was Russian before Texas was part of the USA. Khrushchev gave it administratively to the Ukraine SSR because he was Ukrainian, but culturally it was Russian. It was Moscow’s Florida and an important Russian naval base.

“Donald Trump will let Vladimir Putin keep almost all the territory he has seized from Ukraine...”

Not really as implied since no formal recognition of the above (other than, maybe, Crimea).

Thus, the sentence should be continued as follows:

“...until the Neocons are ready to restart their war”

“Why did Rubio pull out of the discussions?”

He didn’t get what he wanted - which was the killing to continue until Ukraine was out of men.

Scummy Putin is same as old USSR. When the USSR sat down for talks it was — “What’s mine is mine. What’s yours is negotiable”

Putin has the winning hand. He’ll decide what he keeps. Such a waste of human lives.

"Why did Rubio pull out of the discussions?"

I believe the discussions Rubio pulled out of were with Europe and Ukraine, and he probably did so as a means to make the statement that they no longer "have a dog in this hunt".

The US and Russia are carving Ukraine for themselves. Trump probably wants mineral rights in exchange for the billions that Biden tried to give away, and Russia wants a "buffer zone" and to not have NATO on its doorstep.

Ukraine should not have given itself over to the globalists. It's cost them their country.

Just as we all knew when this started. Odd phrasing as letting Putin keep territory they won in the battlefield. Just how can he force them to give it up?

A division like this is meant to stop the killing. It’s what happened in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany after WW2.
We settled on the 38th parallel and a DMZ to stop the Korean War meatgrinder. The only thing that would give Ukraine all that land back is US intervention with a major troop deployment, like almost all US military ground assets. China would then move on Taiwan. Biden fucked up, and Zelensky thought he wore big boy pants. The Ukrainian people paid the price. War is hell.

“TRUMP TO ‘LET’ PUTIN”

Trump will end the war. There was no other possible outcome for Ukraine; Zelensky, the EU and our NeoCons saw to that it had not ended sooner.
