I'm lucky if I have $30 cash in my purse on any given day. $3000 in cash in her purse... struck me as odd as well. Currently, my wife has about $25 in her purse and I have about $35 in my wallet. Kristi is from South Dakota however where you can never tell if you are going to drive by a hot deal on an old tractor on the way home.
