Attorneys general representing 23 states have joined forces in opposition to Chicago and Illinois “sanctuary” laws that prohibit local law enforcement officers from helping with the enforcement of federal immigration statutes.

In an amicus brief filed in support of the federal government’s lawsuit against the city and state, the group argues that Illinois and Chicago are causing harm to their states by obstructing the enforcement of immigration law.

“The national immigration crisis has rendered ‘every state … a border state,’” Ohio Solicitor General T. Elliot Gaiser wrote in a letter signed by 22 colleagues, including attorneys general from Indiana, Missouri, and Iowa.

“Rogue States and cities cannot now thwart the nation’s ‘political will’ on illegal immigration, twice expressed, via Congress’s laws and the president’s policies,” wrote Gaiser, who argued that states “have no right to enact laws conflicting with federal immigration statutes.”

Illinois has effectively resigned from the United States by insisting on being a sanctuary.

Sue them! Their policies are making citizens unsafe in other states and causing damage and financial loss as a result. Take sanctuary states to court! All of them!

As long as the people continue to elect crooked Democrats to run their city, no sympathy for them.

Counties marked in purple have voted to leave the state of Illinois in a variety of "advisory referenda." Seven of them made that vote in 2024.

Chicago welfare cases exported to eastern Iowa have long been noted, and even studied at fedgov expense:

Chicago has a myriad of problems including rampant killings from gun violence - yet defying and refusing to help ICE get violent gang members out of their city is the hill they are choosing to die on.

As Chicago’s black residents:

“Across Chicago, Black residents are frustrated that long-standing needs are not being met while the city’s newly arrived are cared for with a sense of urgency, and with their tax dollars. ‘Our voices are not valued nor heard!’”

What are the chances those same black residents will reelect Brandon Johnson?

NY City exported its welfare population to Eastern Pennsylvania.

My husband’s small town, and many others were destroyed.
