Ex-Warriors Part-Owner Sounds Off on Steve Kerr’s Harvard Support Take
New York Post ^ | April 19, 2025 | Bridget Reilly

Posted on 04/19/2025 1:06:53 PM PDT by nickcarraway

On Tuesday night, Kerr supported the Ivy League university that is currently a target of President Donald Trump, among other universities, for several reasons, including its process for enrolling international students, anti-semitism on campus and its tax-exempt status, by wearing a Harvard basketball shirt at a postgame press conference.

SNIP

However, former Warriors part-owner Chamath Palihapitiya sounded off on the Warriors coach of 11 years in a scorching post on Friday.

“Steve Kerr is a hapless rube. He is blindly defending an institution that: 1) Is a Corporation with a $53B balance sheet masquerading as a non profit,” Palihapitiya wrote on X. “2) Has the absolute worst scores for freedom of speech amongst ALL colleges in America. 3) Was admonished and defeated by the Supreme Court because they were discriminating in their admissions process and violated the Constitution. 4) Has allowed anti Semitism to fester unchecked on campus to such a degree that it led to the ouster of their President because of her incompetence in dealing with it. “Normally, when an executive at a company where I own equity speaks on topics beyond their knowledge and reveals themselves to be an idiot I usually just fire them or sell my equity. Fortunately, I already sold all my equity in the Warriors last year at the-then all time high so this isn’t my problem but the total ignorance of his comments still stands.”

Steve Kerr is the ultimate example of DEI run amok. He is only coach, because he's a woke white man.

Every scrap of coaching success he has is stolen from black men, namely Mark Jackson and Mike Brown. And he apparently has no guilt over that.

The previous coach, Mark Jackson, developed the whole team and system they used to win their championships. He is the only coach in the history of the franchise to have the winning percentage go up every year he was coach. But he was fired, because the team was moving to San Francisco to Oakland, and as the owner said, black people and Christians don't fit in in San Francisco.

[The Warriors team president at the time, just called a press conference last week at his new team, the Las Vegas Mavericks to tell the media they were right to trade Luka Doncic, because he's a terrible player. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to get him deported back to Slovenia.]

Yep, the Mavs are already asking for a new Basketball-Only Arena in Dallas, and when they don’t get it, that will be their excuse to move to Vegas.

And I will say, “Good Riddance!”

They traded their best player (Probably the best player in team history. Sorry, Dirk.) and then they RAISED tickets prices. Straight out of the John Fisher Oakland/Major League movie playbook.

<< . “2) Has the absolute worst scores for freedom of speech amongst ALL colleges in America. >>

Kerr, like other Prog-fascists, supports Harvard BECAUSE of this fact, not in spite of it.

Steve Kerr is a hapless rube.

A perfect description. He should stick to basketball.

When Colon Krapernik started krapping all over this great nation, I ceased paying attention to the NFL. Very soon after, I also ceased watching or listening to the NBA, MLB, Nascar, and any other anti American creepozoids. This article reinforces my decisions. My wife and I enjoy walking to the local Little League parks and games.

A good standard to follow.

But Kerr isn't going anywhere unless the Warriors have a total first round flame-out. And even if let go he would have his choice of other open NBA jobs.

The NBA is a crappy product for most part.

I don't think that the fans are going to care if the Mavs end up moving to Vegas.

So what?

I listen to Chamath’s All-In podcast, which he co-hosts with David Sacks. Always interesting - these are two smart guys.

There was no greater Spurs fan than I when Popovich led the Spurs to 5 championships all those years ago, but when he started on the woke anti-american agenda of his, I shut it down.

He had a stroke last week. He should follow Biden’s lead and have pudding every afternoon and bedtime at 8:30.

Seattle Sonic fan since 1969. The NBA is gangster ball, it does not interest me in the least. The last finals I watched was Dirk starring in it. They simply have destroyed the brand. China sponsored all the time. The NCAA game is superior.
