Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg’s group, Leaders We Deserve, launched a $20 million initiative on Monday aimed at launching primary challenges against House Democrats in safe seats in the hopes of electing a new generation of leaders.
“We’re not only focused on targeting Democratic incumbents when necessary,” Hogg told The Hill in a Wednesday interview. “We are here to elect young people who are running in open seats. We’re here to elect young people that are running open, competitive seats as well, and support them when they align with our values.”
Hogg noted that his group is not blindly seeking to elect young Democrats, but rather seeking to elect young Democrats “who are ready to meet the moment.”
“Earlier somebody said to me, ‘Oh, you’re here to replace the old with new.’ I would say we’re here to replace the ineffective with the new and effective,” he said.
Leaders We Deserve endorses candidates for state House seats who are 30 years old and younger, and candidates who are 35 years old and younger for federal races. The group spent $12 million in the 2024 general election cycle.
Hogg argued that the status quo in leadership in the U.S. has given way to issues like the threat of school shootings, climate change, the lack of affordable housing and student debt, which he said have all had a particular impact on young people.
“That is a democratic society that has enabled that to happen,” he said. “What we have to do in our party is show how we are standing up against special interests to fight for everyday people and deliver for Americans across the country.”

Can you spell asshole????
David Hogg
And rather than a “farm” system to spot and develop conservative GOP leaders, it seems that GOP just waits for some to show up before they lend some support.
More power to him. I’d love to see him take out a few of the biggies.
Ye! You got it. 👌👌
The little prick used a school shooting to catapult himself into politics.
They're Democrats, but the emphasis is on Parteeee.
It's Friday night at 11 o'clock. The basement is full of randy kids, the music is blaring, the keg is cold, and the air is full of smoke.
Just thinkin’ - isn’t that the amount of loot Horizontal still owes? Give it to her.
Hey, you go pigg !
“a democratic society” davey boy needs to go back to school. Article IV, section 4 of our wonderful constitution spells out a republican form of governance. Anyone attempting to get elected should know the difference.
Agreed. "Never interfere with the enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself."
SUPER!!! Does anyone have the picture of Goebbels that looks like Hogg?? They could be twins!!
Does his father still work for the FBI????
He wants to elect Democrats “who are ready to meet the moment”. What does that even mean?
Going with your analogy.
The neighbors called the parents (Republican Party) and they have just arrived and the front lawn is full of cars and motorcycles. The police are also arriving just behind them. And now it’s time to evacuate and arrest all the unwanted and intoxicated people and clean up the mess and total destruction that they have left behind. And the parents are wondering how did their kids get so far out of control? They find the adults that were supposed to keep things under control are wearing black robes are fully intoxicated and passed out in the yard. A couple of the adults in black robes are still awake and complaining why their friends were kicked out of the house and want the parents to bring them back.
Perhaps it means, “when they align with our values.”
Since it is part and parcel of the DNC it wouldn’t be surprising that they are pushing for far left commie types in the mold of AOC/Sanders if President Trump’s SOTO-like speech was any indication.
