Not this guy. If you read what was being asked of that University it runs directly counter to free speech. It’s as if the State of Israel had written the list themselves. “Antisemitism” as long as it’s not a direct threat (which is already covered by laws) is free speech. It’s starting to stink pretty badly when FReepers (in order to get a “win”) are for a foreign nation writing our domestic policy with regards to free speech. I don’t believe Trump truly knows what the exact demands were. Most are common sense demands. However, when you include language such that prevents an American on a college campus from free speech because it hurts the feelings of a Jewish individual that’s completely crossing the line. Netanyahu may have wrote this himself.

As hands on as Trump is, I’m sure that he knew exactly what was being demanded, and that some of it was untenable. That’s the way Trump operates; overdemand, negotiate, and come to an agreement.
In it’s response, Harvard probably would have been better off agreeing to some of the common sense demands and call for a meeting to discuss the other demands.
It’s honestly scary. I firmly believe a foreign nation, through decades of spying and influence have infiltrated our Government to do their bidding while asking no questions whatsoever. To question, is to be called an “antisemite.” I’m telling you, Israel has infiltrated our domestic and foreign policy for decades.
I'm with you on free speech... which by the way left wing 'elite' Universities don't believe in - they're the first to shout down conservatives. I don't stand with violent bullies - if they're at Harvard, burning car dealership or cities or crying for gang bangers who rape and murder. Threatened is not ok. There are already laws on the books for such conduct. Why are we again, creating special rules for a special class that are under protection under present laws? If laws were broken, why make demands if the university to police lawless behavior? If laws were broken then arrest those responsible! When I see the following demand, it gives me pause because now we are asking a University to police free speech. We just won an election for NOT POLICING free speech.

Anti-semetism as defined by WHO? Antisemitism as defined by the ADL? If a student contends the holocaust was either under or over stated does that constitute “antisemitism?” Antisemitism is free speech plain and simple unless a direct threat is made and should be vigorously defended by all. As ugly as it is, both ugly and hateful speech is also protected speech.

Here are the demands. I don’t see anything against the first amendment. The demands look like reasonable items that they should already do.
● Merit-Based Hiring Reform. the University must adopt and implement merit-based hiring policies, and cease all preferences based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin
● Merit-Based Admissions Reform. the University must adopt and implement merit-based admissions policies and cease all preferences based on race, color, national origin,
● International Admissions Reform. the University must reform its recruitment, screening, and admissions of international students to prevent admitting students hostile to the American values and institutions inscribed in the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence, including students supportive of terrorism or anti-Semitism.
● Viewpoint Diversity in Admissions and Hiring. to audit the student body, faculty, staff, and leadership for viewpoint diversity, such that each department, field, or teaching unit must be individually viewpoint diverse.
● Reforming Programs with Egregious Records of Antisemitism or Other Bias.
● Discontinuation of DEI. The University must immediately shutter all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, offices, committees, positions, and initiatives, under whatever name, and stop all DEI-based policies, including DEI-based disciplinary or speech control policies,
● Student Discipline Reform and Accountability. Harvard must immediately reform its student discipline policies and procedures so as to swiftly and transparently enforce its existing disciplinary policies with consistency and impartiality, and without double standards based on identity or ideology.
● Whistleblower Reporting and Protections.
And regardless of what unacknowledged Israeli/Jewish influence there might be in government, Trump's actions taking down the Deep State would naturally disempower them anyway. But the next step to driving the Deep State to extinction is to destroy their centers of power in influential institutions including the entertainment and news media and academia. That's where the battle with taxpayer funding going to Harvard comes in.
