TOKYO (Reuters) - Nissan (7201.T) will cut Japanese production of its top-selling U.S. model, the Rogue SUV, over May-July, said a person familiar with the matter, becoming the latest global automaker to alter manufacturing plans in response to new U.S. import tariffs.
U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to slap a 25% levy on cars built overseas has upended the global automotive supply chain. Nissan, Japan's third-largest carmaker, is more exposed than some rivals. The United States is its top market, accounting for more than a quarter of the vehicles it sold last year, with many of those made in Japan or Mexico.

So?
The number of cars Nissan sells in USA, there is no top selling US model 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a piece of junk!
Did they finly give up on the CVT or is that junk bolted to the other junk?
Even Honda gave up on Nissan and said it couldn’t be saved.
Although, Honda CRVs have 1.5 Liter turbo charged 4 cylinders that have 190 HP.
All the same cars/suvs are going to these smaller turbo charged engines to get better fuel mileage but still the get up and go when you need it.
Nissan has had a long terrible decline since the days of the indestructible Datsun 720 pickup truck.
Any country that tariffs our goods and expects us not to tariff theirs is the enemy of America.
Nissan car sales have been miserable. I thought they would have sold out or shut down by now.
“...has upended the global automotive supply chain”.
Total lie.
IIRC——NISSAN SPENT THE MAJORITY OF LAST YEAR ATTEMPTING TO FIND A BUYER OR A N MERGER PARTNER.
THEY ARE FLAILING
Correct. Nissan’s have been bad for over a decade now. Very unreliable vehicles, especially for a Japanese car.
A girl in my neighborhood got a new Datsun 210 for her 16th birthday.
That was a great car.
For some reason they started to produce junk.

Nissan is still in business? I thought they were begging for a buy out.
I have one, but the 2025 has a 3 cylinder engine. I’m not dropping $30K or so on a ride with something not much bigger than a motorcycle.

I was thinking of the biggest enemies.
