Russian Foreign Minister responds to questions about Russian attack on Ukrainian military awards program in Sumy yesterday.
Zlatti 71 ^ | 4/24/25 | Sergey Lavrov

Interview Excerpt with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov – Kommersant, Moscow, April 14, 2025

Q: You’ve said the new U.S. administration seems willing to discuss not just bilateral matters, but also a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

Yet at a recent UN session on Ukraine—called after the strike on Kryvyi Rih—the U.S. representative warned that continued Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory could derail peace talks. Just days later, Russia struck Sumy, where, according to Ukrainian reports, civilians and children were killed. Does this mean Russia is ignoring U.S. warnings?

Lavrov: The Americans have a lot of “official” representatives. One of them recently made some remarks in Greenland. She was asked to return home—and look for a new job.

Now, I’m not saying this woman (I don’t recall the statement you mentioned) deserves the same fate, but let’s be honest: during the Biden era, lies have completely dominated the Western and U.S. narrative. And we know that well.

But let’s be clear: International humanitarian law strictly forbids placing military infrastructure and weapons in civilian areas.

We know exactly who was at the site hit in Sumy: it was another meeting between Ukrainian commanders and their Western partners—whether they’re called “mercenaries” or something else.

If the Zeepers want to place blame, place the blame on the Uke leader who placed this target in the city. The Ukrainian mayor and Ukrainian MP have done precisely that.

Sounds like the Ukes thought they could use their families as human shields.

Zeepers think only NATO/Ukraine should be allow to fire on the enemy on holidays; if Russia does not hold a unilateral ceasefire they are guilty of war crimes. They know when Ukraine fires on civilian targets in Belgorod and Kursk that the Western press will ignore or downplay it.

Methinks turning Sumy into the logistical hub for the invasion of Russia (Kursk) makes it a perfectly legitimate target.

Israel won’t put up with it. Why should the Russians?

In the Russian-speaking provinces, Ukraine military commanders avoid gathering in large numbers, especially while wearing their uniforms. Operational security demands it, particularly where ethnic Russians are a majority and partisans are everywhere.

So of course its natural Ukraine will claim the victims were “civilians.”

Its just more of their non-stop propaganda for gullible westerners, from the ghost of Kiev, to Putin’s numerous cancers, to hordes of North Koreans showing up in Kursk, and disappearing again.

It’s almost like those predominately Russian speaking areas are under MILITARY OCCUPATION by Ukrainians from further west in Ukraine. Just sayin’.

Apparently they’re now saying those NORKS were Chinese. They might be Vietcong next month.

Well, they didn’t meet in a school, hospital , grocery store or other high risk location this time. The media is getting sloppy as well. Some of the released pictures clearly show military vehicles.
The first causality of war is truth.

“Israel won’t put up with it. Why should the Russians?”

Israel has lost many soldiers putting up with the ‘human shield’ crap (at least prior to Oct. 7). But I agree, no country should put up with it, and it is only effective when you have a media willing to LIE about you putting up human shields, which is the case for both Ukraine and the Palestinians. If the media would simply be HONEST regarding the reporting, then they’d call out the human shields...and the tactic would no longer work.

The Russians living there would certainly agree with that assessment.

“we saw endless cases of Ukrainian forces setting up air defenses and artillery in residential neighborhoods, right next to kindergartens.”
Sounds just like Hamas tactics.
And European NATO “officials” in Ukraine is a provocation.
Europeons and Zelensky are just screwing up everything to keep the fighting going at the expense of more people being killed! This is because they and their democrat operatives hate Trump.
And they don’t care how many people, including children, die.
They didn’t give a rip about covid, their bioweapon, killing people.
It’s just a means to an end that they desire.

So I guess it wasn't a mistake.

Pretty low of Ukraine to do this so close to the front lines, but not surprising with their cokehead dictator. Ukraine Mayor in the Sumy district wants arrests. Click on the sreenshot for a lot more info.

We actually have sat photos of the entire area, google maps, etc.

There was no military infrastructure there. Period.

You’re free to produce the evidence instead of taking the word of the same people who have been lying from day one, beginning with “We are not going to invade Ukraine.”

The Chinese troops have been interviewed and China watchers have confirmed they’re Chinese with regional Chinese accents.

And yes, there are NORKS too, which Russian propaganda was also denying for a long time.

Sorry, but you’re full of shit.

There were no “pictures clearly showing military vehicles.”

Either that, or you’re getting your news from a Russian bot and have not bothered to verify if they are real.

You are free to produce them so I can show you how stupid you are.

Ukrainian schools, hospitals, shopping malls were being bombed on day one. This is nothing new for Russia. Odessa is still being routinely hit, including apartment blocs, despite no military value to them whatsoever.

You have absolutely no clue WTF you’re talking about.

Maybe Victoria Nuland’s Color Revolution wasn’t such a great idea after all.
