Yep, Trump said he wasn’t going to implement Project 2025 because he didn’t want to be held back by it ;-) It included a number of cuts to USAID, for example, but Trump didn’t just cut, he blew the crap out of it, fired everyone, and had the sign over the door removed!

Project 2025 is widely misunderstood—particularly by its critics.

It is mostly a policy document and not a budget document.

For example it does not give percentage of staff cuts proposed for each agency nor exact dollar amounts to be cut.

However, it did propose elimination of the organization of US AID—and the tracker marks that as accomplished.

Our Founders would be very disappointed with our lack of progress in restoring their vision for our Republic ....

Well, the first item on the list was about cryptocurrency, so I decided to take a look at it. The website marks it as a green (completed) item and lists 2 references, an ABC news article and a link to p. 835 of the Project 2025 compendium.

The news article simply reports that Trump ordered the mafioso (SEC, etc.) who have been harassing crypto companies to cut it out, which is fine as far as it goes. But the Project 2025 link explains that the goal is to release clarifying regulation, which has not been done.

A new administration can simply give a green light to the unelected bureaucrats to go back to harassing and shaking down crypto companies, so the temporary reprieve so far is nice but certainly not a completed checkmark. We need the legislation and the protection it brings.

So yeah, based on this one data point I'm disappointed in this website because it sets the bar far too low for claiming something has been "fixed."
