2.8 is not the number!

California’s Medi-Cal shortfall hits $6.2 billion with ‘unprecedented’ cost increases

California health care officials told the Legislature on Monday that the state will need another $2.8 billion to be able to pay Medi-Cal providers through the end of the fiscal year.
That’s on top of a $3.4 billion loan that the administration told lawmakers last week it needed to make “critical” payments for Medi-Cal, the state-federal health insurance program for low-income people.
Combined, that’s $6.2 billion in spending above what was projected in the budget Gov. Gavin Newsom signed last summer. Almost 15 million Californians have health care coverage through Medi-Cal, also known as Medicaid.

So, the rest of us comrades get to pay for California’s dalliance with illegals?

If California ever got enough sanity to elect a true conservative governor, the first thing he should do is have CA file for bankruptcy. I think that’s the only way to break the cycle of lunacy.

That’s about enough money to build 500 feet of track for their super train.

Well if it is not on Newsom’s docket, will he at least apologize to Joe Wilson?

“...Rep. Joe Wilson shouted “you lie” after President Obama denied the health care plan would cover illegal immigrants....”

As a conservative voter in CA, I long ago discovered that I had no voice. I was simply a convenient source of money for the Democrats to spend. I sought out a new place to live and decided on southeast Idaho. That decision was initiated in 1999 and the move occurred in Dec 2000. I'm no longer a source of money with a duct-taped mouth in CA.

Forgive me for repeating a rant. My mother lived, worked and paid taxes in California for the better part of 3/4ths of century. But when it came time to deal with her last illness, her Social Security check made her too ‘rich’ to qualify for any help from MediCal or really any state agency. Meanwhile Juan, just in from south of the border qualifies for free MediCal, a free phone, free internet, and likely walk-around money.

I cannot find adequate words to describe how I feel about ‘California values’.

But if it is Medicaid, aren’t the rest of us paying for it outside of that dump?

When CA’s Newsom starts whining and crying to POTUS for more funding, let’s hope Trump throws him out of the WH.

Yes. Even in Idaho I have to subsidize Medicaid for my state and other states via the federal government. Idaho doesn't have as many illegals on the Medicaid rolls, but the number is not zero.

If. Conservative was elected as gov of California. He or she would spend all their energy fighting law suits.
Like someone else recently elected and has judges blocking every action.
