President Trump railed against CBS on Sunday night, saying the network should lose its broadcast license after “60 Minutes” aired segments on Ukraine and Greenland that the president said cast him in a negative light.
“Almost every week, 60 Minutes … mentions the name ‘TRUMP’ in a derogatory and defamatory way, but this Weekend’s ‘BROADCAST’ tops them all,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post after watching Sunday’s “60 Minutes” broadcast.
“They did not one, but TWO, major stories on ‘TRUMP,’ one having to do with Ukraine, which I say is a War that would never have happened if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED, in other words, if I were President and, the other story was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently,” he continued.
Trump sued CBS News in October over a “60 Minutes” interview with his campaign opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris, that aired shortly before the 2024 presidential election. In the lawsuit, Trump claimed the network deceptively edited the interview to portray Harris in a positive light.
CBS News’s parent company, Paramount, has said the president’s lawsuit is an “affront to the First Amendment and is without basis in law or fact,”

long overdue.
They should’ve lost their license in 2004 with the fake GWB Alabama National guard story on 60 minutes Two...a farce originally exposed here at FR fifteen minutes after the episode aired...
Want to talk about outright election interference???
Somehow I don't see "losing licenses" is going to have the impact you think it would have. It would just drive more people to cable and streaming.
Just my pair o' pennies...
(which I say is a War that would never have happened
if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED,
in other words, if I were President)
I agree, Mr. President
Eisenhower - MIC
If they lose their license then what? Does channel 5 here go off the air? Taken over by FNC? lol
Hopefully OANN / RSB 😄
So every time some network says something unfavorable or critical they should lose the license? What nonsense!
CBS Network does not have a license. They do have 14 owned and operated by CBS/Paramount Global which do.
There are 228 CBS affilates owned by various companies like Gray, Sinclair,Scripps, Nexstar etc. I don’t see how they can pull all those.

Of course not but election interference is another story. Though they shouldn’t lose their license, a hefty price should be paid for a false portrayal of the Kamala interview which was nothing but propaganda.
They can always go to trial if they choose, as well. I would prefer that route so that discovery related facts are exposed to the light of day.
Ah yes, I remember 2004, Freeper Buckhead, and the “typed” document from the 60’s disparaging W’s service in the Texas Air National Guard that was obviously created using a word processor. Proof of time travel, or that Dan Rather and CBS were lying bastards?
CBS really ought to lose their license. They contribute nothing and since they use the public airways, the license should be given to someone who will contribute something.
My immediate thought: “FCC, do it or ghey!”
Networks don’t have licenses. Except for the few “owned” stations.
The broadcasters do.
This is basic stuff. The president should know better.
You realize that the CBS broadcasts over cable are taken “from the air.” In some places they connect directly to the cable company, but they are considered “over the air” carries.
Keep it up DNCBS you will soon be TBS.
Yeah, that smear and the exposure was what got me started in Free Republic 20 years ago.
Different story. Not about Greenland Ukraine story.
Hey CBS, lying is an affront to the first amendment.
You have an FCC license and it’s subject to conditions.
You are violating those conditions.
When I think of CBS, I think of that fraud Dan Rather. Bleah!
