“I think it was terrible and I was told they made a mistake, but I think it’s a horrible thing,” Trump told reporters on-board Air Force One on Sunday evening. “I think the whole war’s a horrible thing.”Moscow’s recent missile strikes in Ukraine that killed dozens of civilians show Russian President Vladimir Putin is “mocking” President Donald Trump, Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has said.
WHY IT MATTERS
Ukrainian authorities said that Russia launched two ballistic missiles at the Ukrainian city of Sumy as residents attended church services marking Palm Sunday.
Ukraine’s state emergency service said late Sunday that 34 people, including two children, had been killed in the strikes. Another 117 people were injured, according to officials.
Ukrainian officials have for weeks warned of a possible imminent Russian offensive into the Sumy region and neighboring Kharkiv, as Moscow pushes back the last of Ukraine’s grip on Russia’s Kursk region.
WHAT TO KNOW
When probed on what he meant by the term “mistake,” Trump told reporters on Sunday: “They made a mistake. I believe it was — look, you got to ask them.” He did not elaborate further.
Trump also branded Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine as “Biden’s war,” reiterating his claim that the Kremlin WOULD NOT have launched its full-scale invasion more than three years ago had he been in the White House.
Ukraine's state emergency service said 51 buildings and 34 cars were damaged in Russia's strike. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the affected buildings included a university, five apartment blocks, stores, coffee shops and the district court.
The head of Ukraine's GUR military intelligence agency, Kyrylo Budanov, said Russia had struck Sumy with two Iskander-M and KN-23 ballistic missiles. KN-23 is a North Korean short-range ballistic missile that Russia has repeatedly used in Ukraine. (Excerpt)

I thought Ukraine was supposed to be resolved before Inauguration Day.
Moscow targeted Kryvyi Rih on April 4 in strikes killing 20 people. This nas now become the second large-scale ballistic missile attack on a major Ukrainian city this month.
- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the attack as “barbaric” and “vile”
- Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she was “deeply horrified.” “Ukraine has supported the U.S. ceasefire negotiations. It should be very clear by now that Russia wants war, not peace.”
It’s closer to resolution now than it was at any time since it started.
Just another neocon Freeper trying to to undercut President Trump for their dwarfish hero dictator Zelensky.
Let Poland go fight them then.
Not that Zelensky gives a hoot about how many of their soldiers die. But, if he did, he's call for unconditional peace talks and take whatever settlement Trump could negotiate.
Luke 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

Sikorski, speaking ahead of a meeting of European Union (EU) foreign ministers in Luxembourg, said he was “shaken” by the Russian attacks on Ukraine, such as the most recent strike on Sumy.
“UKRAINE UNCONDITIONALLY AGREED TO A CEASEFIRE MORE THAN A MONTH AGO,” Sikorski said, the Polish Press Agency reported, and the recent strikes are “RUSSIA’S MOCKING RESPONSE.”

If you want to give out ‘awards’ to the military units involved in the incursion onto Russian territory, don’t be surprised if the Russians attack your ceremony.
Also, have the decency not to hold these events in civilian population centers and try to maintain some operation security so your enemies don’t hear about it in advance.
Why would the Russians stop conducting it?
It's the Ukrainians exclusively that have targeted civilians, used civilians as human shields, forced conscripts to the frontlines to die and attacked nuclear power plants.
The claim the Ukrainians are victims is laughable.
This type of soap opera drama is meaningless. Trump needs to squeeze Russia and Putin the way he has been squeezing Ukraine. He needs to ratchet up the pressure to get Putin to negotiate meaningfully. Putin does not feel enough pressure yet.
Yes, I understand that Poland would like us to attack Russia for them.
This has been obvious for several years. Even the senile Biden wasn’t stupid enough to do it.
The EU left thinks they can goad Trump into support by skirting the truth with this.
Well..ISN’T A WAR?
You know how wars work, right? :)
One side tries to inflict a lot of damage and kill more of the other side.
Ukraine’s a wasteland tundra that has been in dems’ pockets forever.
NATO wanted this war and got it.
You are free to donate YOUR dollars to the effort.
In fact, it should be in a special place on tax forms...”DONATE TO UKRAINE”
Or even head over there. Hand out drinks and stuff :)
But it’s enough already.
I DONT CARE WHO WINS OR LOSES.
As long as we are not involved
TRUE.
President Zelensky has repeatedly called for peace.

Zelenskyy: ‘History being made’ at Swiss-hosted Ukraine peace conference
15 June 2024
Bürgenstock, Switzerland, June 15 (EFE).- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inaugurated the Swiss-hosted Ukraine peace conference on Saturday at the luxury Bürgenstock mountain resort.
It is the first peace summit promoted by Kyiv, appealing to multilateralism for global unity around the principles of the United Nations Charter to end the war in Ukraine and achieve a “just peace.”
Speaking to reporters alongside Swiss President Viola Amherd, Zelenskyy already called the gathering a success.
“We have succeeded in bringing back to the world the idea that joint efforts can stop war and establish a just peace,” he said, declaring that the summit will feature representatives from 101 countries and international organizations. “I believe that we will witness history being made here at the summit.”
He said the opinions, ideas and leadership of all countries were “equally important to us.”
The Ukrainian president reviewed the long road to the summit, which began with the presentation of the so-called Ukrainian “Peace Formula” FIRST UNVEILED at the G20 summit held in Bali in NOVEMBER 2022.
“Everything agreed upon at this summit today will contribute to the peace we all need,” he said, thanking all the participants for accepting his invitation to the meeting in Switzerland.
Kyiv aims to achieve consensual declarations supporting the release of prisoners of war on both sides and the return of all detained and deported civilians, including minors, to Ukrainian government-controlled territory.
The Zelensky administration also seeks an agreement to restore nuclear and food security, compromised by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The statements will be presented to the Kremlin in a bid to pressure Moscow to comply with the demands of the signatory countries. EFE

Trump is no fool, and Trump is already telling Putin to move forward or face the consequences.
The world is seeing who is willing to have peace, and who is not.
