Lip-Bu Tan, the man chosen to lead Intel, the U.S.'s largest chip maker, has invested in hundreds of Chinese tech firms, including at least eight with links to the People's Liberation Army, according to a Reuters review of Chinese and U.S. corporate filings.
The appointment last month of Tan, one of Silicon Valley's longest-running investors in Chinese tech, as CEO of a company that manufactures cutting-edge chips for the U.S. Department of Defense raised questions among some investors
Reuters' review found that Tan controls more than 40 Chinese companies and funds as well as minority stakes in over 600 via investment firms he manages or owns. In many instances, he shares minority stake ownership with Chinese government entities.
Tan invested at least $200 million in hundreds of Chinese advanced manufacturing and chip firms between March 2012 and December 2024, including in contractors and suppliers for the People's Liberation Army, according to a review of Chinese corporate databases cross-referenced with U.S. and analyst lists of companies with connections to the Chinese military.

Biden administration State Department officials held private talks with Beijing counterparts about the Chinese spy balloon that intercepted U.S. airspace in 2023, and discussed the implications the balloon’s publicity would have on the relationship between the U.S. and China, according to Trump administration officials.
U.S. officials identified the spy balloon infiltrating U.S. airspace on Jan. 28, 2023, and an Air Force fighter jet shot down the Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina Feb. 4, 2023, two days after the Pentagon issued a statement on the matter.

Ritzy Florida enclave becomes Chinese smuggling hot spot

In a ritzy enclave of South Florida, Chinese migrants are coming ashore via boat, leading to an investigation into human smuggling networks. One Coral Gables neighborhood, Gables Estates, is ranked as the most expensive housing market in the country, according to data by Zillow.
But in recent months, the dazzling city has seen an uptick of Chinese migrant interceptions. The city’s uptick is representative of the Sunshine State’s influx of Chinese nationals since 2020, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. In 2020, Florida Border Protection officers interacted with 406 Chinese migrants and by 2024, that number jumped to 723 – a 78% increase.
Fox News Digital spoke with Eric Brown, a retired Green Beret and the founder and CEO of Imperio Consulting, about the increase of migrants in the South Florida town. “Coral Gables is adjacent to international waterways, and with Cuba just 90 miles from the coastline of Florida, it just makes sense,” Brown said.
In January – just days before President Donald Trump was sworn into office – a group of more than 30 migrants, most of them Chinese citizens, was found inside a U-Haul van. Coral Gables Police Chief Edward James Hudak Jr. said the department issued a BOLO – a be on the lookout alert – for the van and a Toyota car after a resident reported the suspicious vehicles. Bob Ireland incisively posted earlier: Most countries are
wisely choosing to renegotiate with the US over tariffs.
So why is the market going super nova?
The key is CHINA! ! ! China maintains high tariffs against us PLUS they do currency manipulation, devaluing the yuan against the dollar. China brags about its status as a world power... but China depends heavily on plundering our country. During the Clinton Admin our deficit was a little less than $50 billion a year. Now it is about $1/2 trillion a year.
Add to that the theft of intellectual property, capturing U.S. patents, pirating U.S. business secrets; some estimate that our current trade deficit is probably about $1 trillion a year.
They have the world’s largest navy; they have perhaps 1/4 - 1/2 million troops. Those troops have to be fed and supplied. Those ships need fuel, parts and regular maintenance. Ammunition and rockets and missiles are regular ongoing expenses.
China is still heavily dependent on collecting dollars to maintain its world power status. They are putting undue pressure on all their ‘allies’ in this country to make Trump look like he is in a losing position. China raised its tariffs and fees on U.S. property. It is all out: defeat Trump’s tariffs! China has undue influence on the U.S. Senate - who has just tried to pass a bill to override Trump’s tariff agenda. They have avenues to attempt at least some stock market manipulation.
It is all out for China for one simple reason: THEY MUST PLUNDER THE U.S. ECONOMY in order to maintain their elevated world status. On the present path China would become the ONLY world power and the U.S. would be economically reduced to Guatemala, etc. - a banana republic.
Will President Trump blink, falter?
China is taking that gamble.
Stand fast, Don.
Execute him, and imprison every last member of the Board of Directors in Gitmo.
Chinese spy balloon in US airspace was packed with American tech

The Chinese balloon that sparked panic when it flew over the US two years ago was, as long suspected, set up to spy on Americans — but surprisingly with US-made technology, according to a new report. The 200-foot-tall balloon was loaded with a satellite communication module, sensors and other technology from at least five American firms, two sources with direct knowledge of a classified US military report told Newsweek.
The craft — which floated from Alaska over Canada and into the US Midwest before it was shot down off the coast of South Carolina on Feb. 4, 2023 — could have collected detailed data on oblivious Americans, the sources said, citing what was discovered in parts of the recovered balloon.
That included tech to survey, take photographs and collect other intelligence data — and even launchable gliders that could have flown on other recon missions, the sources said, citing the classified military report.
“A Chinese company would not have given them a full satcom [satellite communications] coverage of the US,” said one of the sources, a former federal intelligence employee. The technology matched a patent awarded in 2022 to scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Aerospace Information Innovation Research Institute in Beijing, which has links to China’s military, according to Newsweek, which said it was briefed on the report but did not see it directly.
Included in the patent, titled “A high-altitude balloon safety control and positioning recovery device and method,” was a short-burst messaging module called Iridium 9602, Newsweek reported. Module maker Iridium is a global satellite communications provider whose command post is in McLean, Va. — mere miles from CIA headquarters, the report noted. (Excerpt) Read more at nypost.com ...
#4 Warren Buffet invested in Chinese BYD long ago, you wanna go arrest him?
Yes. BYD has bribed politicians in order to sell their electric buses that do not work. Also money laundering with gov newsom (CA) $1.2 billion disappeared when 200,000 face masks were suppose to arrive every month starting in April 2020. Zero arrived.
Buffett had the keystone pipeline deal killed so his train could transport oil at much higher price.

China Admits Cyberwarfare Attacks on US Infrastructure Targets

We have known (or, at least, suspected) for years that China has been making cyber-incursions into American networks and systems. Now, in an exclusive Wall Street Journal report from Cybersecurity and Intelligence reporter Dustin Volz, we learn that in December, China made a tacit admission of being behind a series of attacks on American infrastructure.
Chinese officials acknowledged in a secret December meeting that Beijing was behind a widespread series of alarming cyberattacks on US infrastructure, according to people familiar with the matter, underscoring how hostilities between the two superpowers are continuing to escalate.
The Chinese delegation linked years of intrusions into computer networks at U.S. ports, water utilities, airports and other targets, to increasing U.S. policy support for Taiwan, the people, who declined to be named, said.
What’s a little surprising here is that the Chinese delegation in this meeting admitted, so freely, that Chinese hackers were messing about in American cyber-systems. Then again, they were dealing with the Biden administration at that point, so they were pretty safe in presuming inaction on the part of the United States in response. But then, they already knew that President Trump was re-assuming office in January.
The first-of-its-kind signal at a Geneva summit with the outgoing Biden administration startled American officials used to hearing their Chinese counterparts blame the campaign, which security researchers have dubbed Volt Typhoon, on a criminal outfit, or accuse the U.S. of having an overactive imagination.
US officials went public last year with unusually dire warnings about the uncovered Volt Typhoon effort. They publicly attributed it to Beijing trying to get a foothold in U.S. computer networks so its army could quickly detonate damaging cyberattacks during a future conflict.
The Chinese official’s remarks at the December meeting were indirect and somewhat ambiguous, but most of the American delegation in the room interpreted it as a tacit admission and a warning to the U.S. about Taiwan, a former U.S. official familiar with the meeting said. China is growing ever more serious about Taiwan and has been for quite a while.
Cyber warfare, of course, is no joke. Any major conflict between developed nations, as opposed to un-aliving marginally literate Houthis rebels, would have a cyberwar element; certainly any future conflict with China would. A major war would likely begin with a cyber attack on the target country’s infrastructure; the electrical grid, water, communications, all could be brought down, making an initial military strike easier; the enemy would be confused, and couldn’t easily communicate, form plans, and respond to any hostile acts.
China sure seems to be getting better at this. We’d better get better at it, too. Attack is the other side of the coin as defense, after all. Our vital systems are clearly vulnerable, and we need to fix that. What’s more, China wants us to know that they are getting better at it, according to the WSJ piece linked above:
A Chinese official would likely only acknowledge the intrusions even in a private setting if instructed to do so by the top levels of Xi’s government, said Dakota Cary, a China expert at the cybersecurity firm SentinelOne. The tacit admission is significant, he said, because it may reflect a view in Beijing that the likeliest military conflict with the U.S. would be over Taiwan and that a more direct signal about the stakes of involvement needed to be sent to the Trump administration.
“China wants U.S. officials to know that, yes, they do have this capability, and they are willing to use it,” Cary said, ......in other words, not a leak. Someone was told to warn us that China is doing this. They are telling us that if we support Taiwan in any upcoming attempt by Communist China to retake what they deem a “rogue province,” the United States had better not interfere. If they can do it for that reason, they can do it for any other reason, like, say, a trade war.
Chinese medical devices are in health systems across US
the government and hospitals are worried

A popular medical monitor is the latest device produced in China to receive scrutiny for its potential cyber risks. However, it is not the only health device we should be concerned about. Experts say the proliferation of Chinese health-care devices in the U.S. medical system is a cause for concern across the entire ecosystem.
The Contec CMS8000 is a popular medical monitor that tracks a patient’s vital signs. The device tracks electrocardiograms, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, non-invasive blood pressure, temperature, and respiration rate. In recent months, the FDA and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) both warned about a “backdoor” in the device, an “easy-to-exploit vulnerability that could allow a bad actor to alter its configuration.”
CISA’s research team described “anomalous network traffic” and the backdoor “allowing the device to download and execute unverified remote files” to an IP address not associated with a medical device manufacturer or medical facility but a third-party university — “highly unusual characteristics” that go against generally accepted practices, “especially for medical devices.”
“When the function is executed, files on the device are forcibly overwritten, preventing the end customer—such as a hospital—from maintaining awareness of what software is running on the device,” CISA wrote.
The warnings says such configuration alteration could lead to, for instance, the monitor saying that a patient’s kidneys are malfunctioning or breathing failing, and that could cause medical staff to administer unneeded remedies that could be harmful. The Contec equipment’s vulnerability doesn’t surprise medical and IT experts who have warned for years that medical device security is too lax. (Excerpt) Read more at nbcnewyork.com ...
