Sad Trombone: Cory Booker Gets Some Bad News on Multiple Fronts After 'Marathon Speech' Stunt
Redstate ^ | 04/06/2025 | Sister Toldjah

It's been a mere week since Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) staged a filibuster-like stunt with a speech that had the media swooning and salivating, especially once it was confirmed that Booker officially broke the record for the longest speech ever given in the Senate.

For instance, the AP gushed that he "was holding the Senate floor with a marathon speech that lasted all night and well into Tuesday morning in a feat of endurance to show Democrats’ objections" to President Trump and his DOGE agenda.

As GOP strategist Scott Jennings pointed out, however, it was unclear what the "point" of Booker's speech was since he wasn't stopping any proposed legislation nor any Trump nominees.

"So maybe this was an attempt by him to try to wrest control of at least the spiritual leadership of the national party. I don't know if it will work," Jennings observed.

The poll doesn't look too good to me. No way Harris is beating Newsom by 38%.
However Booker's nowhere to be found despite his stunt.

If his name was Bookman I might listen. Sounds intelligent. Booker sounds more like the guy who takes my bets at the track. Or a travel agent. Or a sleazy nightclub promoter.

GOP strategist Scott Jennings pointed out it was
unclear what the “point” of Booker’s speech was.

Booker wasn’t filibustering for accepted historical reasons:
stopping proposed legislation or sidelining Trump nominees.

“So maybe this was an attempt by him to try to wrest
control of the spiritual leadership of the national party.”

“I don’t know if it will work,” Jennings observed.

25 hours of Cory.

I never heard of “sad trombone” before this.
“Used to indicate failure, disappointment, or a negative outcome, often mimicking the descending sound of a trombone.”

Very little known is the urban slang and jazz musicians’ term used by Bob Dylan in Absolutely Sweet Marie.
“I’m just here, beating on my trumpet.” Meaning masturbating due to the frustration of rejection in lines preceding it.

Musicians said it to mean a low talent player trying to present himself by “beating his own trumpet” to promote himself beyond his abilities. Blowing his own horn.

That pertains to Cory.

So, Corey Booker gets the Senate windbag of the month award — and the public does not care.

As much as I like JD , I would vote for another Trump first. They keep their promises. In my 72 years Trump is by far the best President. I trust his sons would do the same.

I used to hear that trombone on TV game show Let’s Make A Deal, hosted by Monty Hall.
Loud, garish game shows were big in my family home.

Newsome has moves to the right of Mao, so the ordinary Democrats don’t like him at this moment. As far as I know, vagina and pigment do not disappear so those who worship them, which is ordinary Democrat voters, still like Kemala.
