Earlier today, President Donald Trump has issued a powerful ultimatum to the Chinese Communist Party: withdraw your new 34% retaliatory tariff on U.S. goods by tomorrow or face a crippling 50% tariff from the United States.
Communist China’s tantrum came after President Trump’s bold and long-overdue move to impose reciprocal tariffs on Chinese imports—an action that millions of forgotten American workers have waited for decades to see.
But instead of accepting the reality that their days of robbing the U.S. blind are over, the CCP is resorting to its usual playbook of deceit, deflection, and economic warfare.
Beijing hit back to the threat, saying in a statement from its Ministry of Commerce, that “pressuring or threatening China is not a right way to engage.”
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce responded to Trump’s latest threat on Monday and did not hold back.
China is in complete denial and this won’t end well for them.
China has noted that on April 7, Eastern Time, the United States threatened to further impose 50% tariffs on China. China firmly opposes this. If the US escalates its tariff measures, China will resolutely take countermeasures to safeguard its own rights and interests.
The US’s imposition of so-called “reciprocal tariffs” on China is completely groundless and is a typical unilateral bullying practice. The countermeasures China has taken are aimed at safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development interests, and maintaining the normal international trade order. They are completely legitimate. The US threat to escalate tariffs on China is a mistake on top of a mistake and once again exposes the blackmailing nature of the US. China will never accept this. If the US insists on its own way, China will fight to the end.
China reiterates that there are no winners in a trade war and no way out of protectionism. Pressure and threats are not the right way to deal with China. China urges the US to immediately correct its wrong practices, cancel all unilateral tariff measures against China, stop economic and trade suppression of China, and properly resolve differences with China through equal dialogue on the basis of mutual respect.
p
gotta love chicoms.
When they do it it’s “safeguarding our interests.” when the US does it for the same reason “it is blackmail”
Will the CCP claw back some of their Bixiden/Dr. Jill/Hunter buck$?
They thought they could perpetually get away with intellectual property theft and many other corrupt trade practices with no repercussions. Not so. Good-bye China.
‘Xactly what will it get them in the end?
You go girl!
Define “fight.”
ANYTHING THEY CAN DO—_WE CAN DO BETTER
I think they need us more than we need them. In fact if American companies were smart they would be positioning themselves as the anti-commie China company.
I’ll take an economic war with China over a military war.
If China retaliates again, the US should formally recognize Taiwan.
Want to bet the Cinese are behind the negative press, lies, and demonstrations?
First, never believe a word the Chinese say.
But I do hope they fight to the end.
Bring it !!

Interesting that the Dow Futures are up over 600 pts at the moment.
I realize this could change any moment but it is rare to see the futures in the positive lately.
Somebody decided to call the panda’s bluff. Panda very angry.
Bob Ireland incisively posted earlier: Most countries are
wisely choosing to renegotiate with the US over tariffs.
So why is the market going super nova?
The key is CHINA! ! ! China maintains high tariffs against us PLUS they do currency manipulation, devaluing the yuan against the dollar. China brags about its status as a world power... but China depends heavily on plundering our country. During the Clinton Admin our deficit was a little less than $50 billion a year. Now it is about $1/2 trillion a year.
Add to that the theft of intellectual property, capturing U.S. patents, pirating U.S. business secrets; some estimate that our current trade deficit is probably about $1 trillion a year.
They have the world’s largest navy; they have perhaps 1/4 - 1/2 million troops. Those troops have to be fed and supplied. Those ships need fuel, parts and regular maintenance. Ammunition and rockets and missiles are regular ongoing expenses.
China is still heavily dependent on collecting dollars to maintain its world power status. They are putting undue pressure on all their ‘allies’ in this country to make Trump look like he is in a losing position. China raised its tariffs and fees on U.S. property. It is all out: defeat Trump’s tariffs! China has undue influence on the U.S. Senate - who has just tried to pass a bill to override Trump’s tariff agenda. They have avenues to attempt at least some stock market manipulation.
It is all out for China for one simple reason: THEY MUST PLUNDER THE U.S. ECONOMY in order to maintain their elevated world status. On the present path China would become the ONLY world power and the U.S. would be economically reduced to Guatemala, etc. - a banana republic.
Will President Trump blink, falter?
China is taking that gamble.
Stand fast, Don.
Did you notice that Fang Fang’s boyfriend/asset Eric Swalwell was leading one of the anti-Trump rallies over the weekend?
