Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Granddaughter recently completed Basic CombatTraining there. It was Fort Moore when she went and Benning when she left.
You must be so proud of your granddaughter! ❤️
Lived in Columbus working for Pratt & Whitney for 5 years.
I’m a wargamer and made many friends from Fort Benning. HMGS was an Infantry Ball sponsor in I think it 1993. had a great time, went on stage with a captain friend of mine, who made ltc. now retired as a major. We did a take on whos on first as he tried explaining ranks to me. like who’s the general, etc.. I flubbed a few lines, but it only made it funnier to the crowd. A great community at Benning, god bless them all. BTW at the infantry museum where I did a lectures and wargames on Kasserine and Stalingrad, there was a room full of Japanese katanas in the storage area, all from Japanese General officers. Insanely incredible if you like that kind of thing.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
I graduated from Airborne School in November 1976. Vivid memories exist to this day.
You never forget those days, those experiences. Thank you for your service!
Ah, Ft. Benning. Went through CRC there twice.
CRC sucks. Ft. Benning had a decent PX.
Having a good PX is very important to soldiers...and their families. Thanks for your service!
Howdy Allegra.
Bet it was “fun” at Ft. Benning during summertime. Summer in that part of GA can be rough. Hot and very steamy.
Howdy, luvie.
Did it warm up nicely today? I hope so for the kitties’ sake.
It stayed cloudy here and it was right chilly - 46 - until the clouds finally moved out around 6 p.m. The temp shot up to 54 for a short time before the sun set.
Still better than Anchorage where Kathy’s had snow almost all day.
Hey there, radu!
Yes, it was much warmer today. Even now it’s 56, which feels pretty good. I wouldn’t want to stay out and sit in it, but it’s not bad at all. It’s going to continue to heat up till it reaches about 90-92 this coming weekend. Not thrilled with THAT.
Sounds like you had our weather from yesterday today. Did it rain some more or was it just cloudy?
Poor Kathy. I would NOT be thrilled with snow in April. Well, or any other time, if I’m truthful. LOL!
