TAIPEI, April 6 (Reuters) - Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te on Sunday offered zero tariffs as the basis for talks with the U.S., pledging to remove trade barriers rather than imposing reciprocal measures and saying Taiwanese companies will raise their U.S. investments.
President Donald Trump announced across-the-board import tariffs on Wednesday, with much higher duties for dozens of trading partners, including Taiwan, which runs a large trade surplus with the U.S. and faces a 32% duty on its products.
The U.S. tariffs, however, do not apply to semiconductors, a major Taiwanese export.

Gee, willya look at that?
That would be smart. Because it is partly the U.S. that keeps China at bay.
Keep an eye on the market starting at 4:00 tomorrow morning EST.
Looks like Trump is building a free trade organization.
He is a builder after all.
“Domino effect”
totally ... Rand Paul better accelerate his efforts to cut President Trump off at his knees before Trump gets added to Mt. Rushmore ...
Winning
and to you loser liberal non-thinking aps out there, how in the heck can you negotiate from nothing? Trump had to put a stake in the ground and say, ok now lets talk. That’s how you get 50+ nations saying “we’ll talk now”
and another point to you loser telsa haters out there, why is talking and using business worse than dropping bombs (AKA Russia/Ukraine.) My answer is you are Godless daemons, and useless fools.

exactly: the market’s gonna skyrocket Monday ... TDS media will be greatly saddened; my guess is that the stock market will no longer be a news item ...
Ya gotta watch out if you are at work.
I expect another significant sell off and likely another one within the next few weeks. Investors dont know how this is going to shake out.
The futures don’t look so good, but that is as of last friday. So I was hoping for more good news, maybe by Wednesday this week markets will turn. I just need to try and keep my margin calls to a minimum! Ya I learned my lesson...
Our “liberal” MSM labels the ONLY president who has actually helped the working middle class as racist, sexist, dumb, a Nazi, not caring about the poor...
This is the same “liberal” MSM which is foaming at the mouth today trying to rationalize a war in Ukraine.
It’s the same “liberal” MSM that is OK with censorship, propagating outright government sponsored propaganda, etc.
It’s time to stop pretending.
Our MSM isn’t liberal, it isn’t some watchdog of democracy, it doesn’t show all sides, nor do they champion human rights, free speech or anything else for that matter.
They are simply a corporate media owned or beholden to the same oligarchs that also meddle heavily on the political stage.
This MSM is predominantly Democrat and merely uses faux causes like climate change, or made up movements like BLM to push a greater socio-economic and political agenda.
The MSM is the voice of the “the man” that people talk about when they pump their fist at the sky and talk about social/legal injustice and ironically the very people that feel the system is unjust take their cues, get their ideas, so called facts and follow the science from the very people they think they oppose.
Pre-market trading of stocks starts at 4 am. That’s when I wake up and check it every morning but Sat/Sun.;-)
Amazing that a businessman knows more about business than a bunch of career politicians and goobermint economists.

No kidding. I’m biting my nails. Is the new $5 trillion investment in the USA enough to hold off another “Black Monday”?
“exactly: the market’s gonna skyrocket Monday ... TDS media will be greatly saddened; my guess is that the stock market will no longer be a news item ...”
I hope you’re right but I dont think so. Tomorrow is going to be ugly.
