Interim US attorney for DC likens Jan. 6 cases to Japanese internment

Ed Martin, the interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said in a message to staff on Friday that he's "expanded" the scope of his investigation into the office's handling of cases stemming from the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol -- and likened them to the government's internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, according to an email obtained by ABC News.

Martin, whose nomination is still pending confirmation by the Senate, has dubbed his investigation the "1512 Project," referring to the felony obstruction charge used against hundreds of Capitol attack defendants that was later narrowed by the Supreme Court.

"We have contacted lawyers, staff and judges about this -- and sought their feedback," Martin wrote in his email. "One called the bi-partisan rejection of the 1512 charge the 'greatest failure of legal judgement since FDR and his Attorney General put American citizens of Japanese descent in prison camps -- and seized their property.' I agree and that's why we continue to look at who ordered the 1512 and why. A lot to do."

Since Blondi and Patel have adopted a hands off attitude towards Schiff, this is what you get. The shadow state realizes there’s one person who wants to hold them accountable.

From CBS four days ago.

“Martin, a “Stop the Steal” advocate and former defense attorney who represented U.S. Capitol riot defendants, is Mr. Trump’s nominee to be U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, and Sen. Adam Schiff, a first-term Democrat from California, plans to hold his nomination amid a growing number of controversial statements and decisions by Martin.”

Maybe he can do more good where he is.

I was told once that the Secretary of the Army was “Mr. Outside.” He met with Congressmen, the Secretary of Defense, the press, gave speeches and so on. The UnderSecretary of the Army was “Mr. Inside.” He ran the Army.

Did not shifty do some of his bad deeds in DC? Seems to me he could be indicted for them there.

I like him too, but actually the interned Japanese were treated FAR BETTER than the Jan. 6th hostages.

I have argued in the past that the J6 prisoners should be treated like the Japanese interned during WWII.

The White House should hold a ceremony honoring them and issuing a formal apology—and the government should pay them (or their families) reparations.

I would also like to see a monument in DC honoring the J6ers and their sacrifice.

Meanwhile—Kash—you owe J6ers 5,000 fired FBI agents/employees who were “just following orders” on the J6 cases. It is time to pay what is owed. That bill is overdue.

Jackasses - 4 years ago. - HEY, lets go help Ukraine attack Russia!
Jackasses last week - Trump’s an idiot for Ukraine.
If Uni-Party lost election-Us, Jackasses are pretty damn smart!
