“I think the ones I purchase here are a mix of Philippines’ and Hawaiian.
Nothing like the ones I grew or bought in Texas.”
You are eating a watercado. A watery avocado that is not oily like the classic Hass from California. Now widely grown in Mexico, so keeping Hass avocado prices down. The Dominican Republic grown avocadoes are large and common in the USA. They are watery too.

In Australia, they are lately fond of something called smashed avocado on toast. They eat it for breakfast especially. They literally smash a pealed avocado into large chunks and spread it onto a thick slice of rustic toast. Then, they sprinkle something I think is goat cheese on it.

“California olive oil is the best.” No...Greek olive oil is by far the best
I scored a case of it from Trader Joe a couple of years ago

I am not the OP on the “California is the best.” Really good and remarkable, but not even close to the best. My bests are Italian and Greek. Our every day is Lucini Premium Select.
