(Reuters) - Contemplating smoking your way out of the tariff gloom? Think again.
Sweeping tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday are set to increase prices of cannabis products in the country, as many firms rely on Asia for manufacturing. The latest levies will stack up on any duties imposed earlier on countries like China, Canada, Mexico and the EU.
Items such as tins, vape hardware and specialized glass remain difficult to source domestically, and companies remain largely dependent on Asia particularly China, analysts and executives said.

Oh noes!!! The sky is falling because of evil demon nazi Trump!! </S>
Personally I don’t think this whole everybody smoke pot idea is a good one.
So this doesn’t bother me. Also, to see most of the cannabis comes from China? What? We can’t grow grass here? That is ridiculous.
Who imports weed products
Nation is over supplied with legal already
IBTFRReefers.
Yeah...I couldn’t care less how a “cannabis user” life is impacted.
I went back to Mass recently...where legal pot usage is rampant...and my buetifull birth state basically smells like pot EVERYWHERE..other then your own house.
You go down to Plymouth to see the Mayflower?...yeah it smell s like pot.
Eating near Faneuil Hall or going to the Boston Aquarium? Nothing but pot smell.
Bunker Hill? Pot
Hiking near Quabbin Reservoir...yup smells like pot.
I’d like to know how much of the vape cr@p comes from China/other countries.
A Mississippi Meerschaum or rolling papers and grow yer own. This is the least of our worries. If you need to worry, think about how to get rid of politically biased left wing judges and what happens if we don’t.
People should know that almost every country has tariffs on our products that are at least twice as high as ours on their products (https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/files/Press/Reports/2025NTE.pdf) In some cases, much worse: Canada has up to a 268% tariff on US dairy products. Trump's tariffs are "reciprocal tariffs". Example, the EU has a 12.5% tariff on US auto while we have a 2.5% tariff on EU cars imported into the US. Trump simply made them equal: 12.5% on their cars. There is discussion about lowering the tariff by the EU, but nothing has changed yet. However, some countries (Vietnam, India, Israel) have lowered tariffs on US products.
Trump is simply responding in kind to the treatment they've been giving us for decades.
FFS, why cant we produce our own rolling papers and bongs?! Made in America
Your tariffs aren’t getting me higher...
Than I’ve ever been high before...
Hey, no problem, just go Carl and grow your own hybrid. A person can even play golf on it. It is a little harsh though he said.

Americans are entrepreneurial. They will blow glass.
“Nation is over supplied with legal already”
That is a drop in the bucket compared to illegal!
No tariffs paid for that.
Lol.
I get frequent migraines and NOTHING I have ever tried works as well as a draw or two on a THC vape pen. It zaps them gone in minutes. But that’s me.
That being said... We aren’t importing the weed. It is the packaging and paraphernalia that are all imported from China.
Don’t care. Never smoked weed and don’t plan on it. It’s just more garbage putting into the body.
Growing high quality cannabis is mostly done in buildings with heavy use of automated lighting and irrigation equipment. This specialized growing equipment is mostly produced off shore where labor costs are lower. Therefore grower costs will increase marginally. Energy and security are the other big cost factors in this form of agriculture.
