Democrats have a new boogeyman in Elon Musk: Takeaways from Tuesday's elections

Tuesday’s elections in Wisconsin and Florida were kind to the favorites but not to billionaire White House adviser Elon Musk. And that result could stick around long after the votes are counted.

State Circuit Judge Susan Crawford won a pivotal election to maintain liberal control of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court despite a big push from Musk and his millions, while two Republican candidates in Florida won special House elections in deep-red districts. But even though their candidates won just one of the three contests on the ballot, it was a good night for Democrats.

They spent heavily to back Crawford, who cruised to victory over Circuit Judge Brad Schimel without much suspense Tuesday night.

And while Republicans will pad their slim House majority in Washington with two more reinforcements at a critical legislative moment, the Democratic candidates significantly improved on the party’s November performance, raising questions about whether Democrats can keep up that momentum in next year’s midterm elections.

Just months after Democrats lost a presidential election while failing to generate strong enough backlash against Donald Trump, it appears they’ve found a new electoral boogeyman in Musk.

It certainly wasn’t a win for the souls of democrats who voted for abortion - the murder of babies.

Maybe there is a temporary legal benefit, yet all will suffer the consequences!

Without an audit, we’ll never know that this result is legit.

And after seeing reports of just some of what went on yesterday...

I think Deep State’s victory will be proven pyrrhic.

I'm not so sure about that, as Musk has stated that his work is almost completed and he'll be bowing out soon...so they won't have him to "kick around" any more.

Definitely another Soros victory there in Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Deranged Democrats have been torching Tesla dealerships and vandalizing citizens' Tesla vehicles across the U.S. and the world. Democrats expect their ongoing violence will cause Tesla's first-quarter auto sales report this morning to be disastrous. Violent Democrats, cheered on by top Democrat politicians such as Democrat VP nominee Tampon Tim Walz, expect that Tesla stock will nosedive as much as -20% today because of horrible first-quarter Tesla auto sales numbers.

In his public speeches, Walz often tells his audiences that he really enjoys checking his phone's stock app each morning to see how much the American company Tesla's stock has plunged again.

Delirious Democrats are confident that Tesla will report a horrific first-quarter auto sales number this morning followed by a -20% Tesla stock collapse when the stock market opens. Will Deranged Democrats be proven right?

Politics needs an Enemy. Trump survived 2024. Elon became easy pickings
Recently saw a video of a young lady who found out a coworker was a conservative. Immediately she hated him like a switch flipped even after they had been friends. Very Pavlovian

Has this been fact checked yet? This is NBC. No credibility.

Democrats were heavily involved in WI. You cannot trust or believe the outcome.

Elon has said that he receives between 17,000 and 18,000 death threats per day- that pretty much sums up how evil the left are- all beczuse he is rich and they aren’t!

I don’t know if this boogeyman is really what they believe it to be.

Yes the WI Supreme Court results are disappointing and personally I am a bit surprised the margins in the 25 special election are about the same as the 23 special election.

However, I don’t know if concluding the Elon boogieman is the reason.

Off cycle elections are always odd beasts, and whoever has the more motivated base is likely to win. Given Trump is the president, and republicans control everything one would expect the democratic base to be more motivated.

Republicans did get ~245,000 more votes in 25, than in 23... but Democrats got ~280,000 more than 23.

Winding up with a slightly smaller margin of victory for the liberal than 25.

Not being on the ground in Wisconsin, I am not going to speculate as to why at this point. Though I will expect I did think the results would be tighter, but I expected it to be under double digits, but again, not on the ground and have no magical insight.

GOP, getting 25% more votes in the box than 23, doesn’t speak to a dejected party. Crawford outspent Schimel by about 2 to 1. 280k more votes for spending 2 to 1 vs 245k more votes for Schimel doesn’t exact exude that the Elon Boogieman is a giant winner.

I am not saying boogieman ELON had no impact, I am sure it had some.. but I really don’t know if I would hang my hat on that as a winning strategy going forward.

For those wondering, this is by design. Trump knew Elon could take the bullets for him.

GOP was the underdog in this race. I am not on the ground in WI, however, had the GOP candidate won it certainly would have been an upset based on every piece of data I have seen.

I admit personally I expected smaller margin... Did not expect this to end with a double digit margin.

Democrats are out of power, so their base is going to be more motivated. Democrats outspent GOP by 2-1 in this race.

However, GOP increased their vote totals by about 245k from the 2023 (over 25% increase). Dems added ~280k to their 23 totals... Given the spending differentials, the fact its an off cycle election and the fact that Democrats are out of power, Democrats had the odds in this race. However, I think Democrats crowing about how this was a full on rejection of the republican brand is not remotely accurate.

I don’t know if you can blame massive Fraud.

Yes I personally expected a lower margin, but the GOP candidate was always the underdog in this race.

See my previous post above.

However, given the results of the Voter ID referendum its hard to see major fraud here.. That is just as much a long term threat to democrats as the Supreme Court, yet other than Madison, the referendum passed everywhere else by huge margins, including Milwaukee and other urban centers

I am not suggesting no hanky panky went on, but did hanky panky throw this election? I don’t think so. GOP did put a few more votes in the box that the Dems did in 2023.. .but to expect the Dems to have the same 2023 numbers in the current environment was not going to happen.
