Employees across the massive U.S. Health and Human Services Department began receiving notices of dismissal on Tuesday in an overhaul ultimately expected to lay off up to 10,000 people....
An email viewed by The Associated Press shows some senior-level employees of the Bethesda, Maryland, campus who were placed on leave were offered a possible transfer to the Indian Health Service in locations including Alaska and given until end of Wednesday to respond.

This is going to be a big day and big week for layoffs, firings etc. I will post further updates as they are covered by mass media.
Unconfirmed reports say there are long lines at HHS buildings around the country as employees are being fired on the spot at security--their badges have been invalidated.
Many entire regional offices have been closed today.

Now That’s Funny.
I knew people who were stationed in Alaska and they loved it.
Yup—for those who don’t know the “Indians” are actually Eskimos—and many of their villages are only accessible by dog sleds for many months of the year.
I know a person who worked for HUD in Alaska and had to take dog sled to visit many of the Eskimo public housing projects.
They loved the dogs and didn’t mind the work—but most metro DC feds will quit before making the move.
Based on their record to date, their elimination is no loss.
None of them comes into the office, anyway.

A lot of black Americans disproportionately make up a sizeable chunk of the federal civilian employment. I noticed that NPR started doing news bits pointing this out about a month ago when DOGE was going to work. I can guarantee you NPR is working to develop a news story that they will continue parroting to the effect that “Trump intentionally tried to hurt blacks with layoffs”.
There is no question in my mind they will launch a big expose on this at some point just to see how much damage they can cause.

—Office of Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights (supposedly entire division gone)
—Center for Tobacco Products (supposedly entire division gone)
—National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities
—Center for Devices and Radiological Health
—CDC Division of HIV Prevention (supposedly entire group gone)
—Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
—Economist got fired (wonder what they were doing there—lol)
—CDC National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion
—National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
—CDC Division of Digital Media (gone)
—FDA Center of Biologics Evaluation and Research
—Center for Veterinary Medicine

Yup—I just got tired of typing all the different divisions and offices that have been nuked today.
Every time you get rid of a division you save operating costs plus you stop the slimy grants for huge sums of money.
This will weaken the political clout of leftist universities and NGOs.
They had a great gravy train while it lasted.
