Carney standing by candidate Paul Chiang, who suggested Conservative be turned over to China for bounty Conservative candidate Joe Tay says he fears for his safety

Liberal Leader Mark Carney says Paul Chiang will remain a candidate under his party's banner, despite calls to drop the Markham-Unionville incumbent for suggesting people turn in a Conservative candidate to the Chinese consulate and collect a bounty.

"I view this as a teachable moment," Carney said during a campaign stop in Vaughan, Ont., Monday.

Carney is facing external pressure to drop Chiang after he told a Chinese-language media news conference in January that people could cash in if they turned Joe Tay in to the Chinese consulate in Toronto. Tay is running for the Conservatives in the suburban Toronto battleground riding of Don Valley North.

This could be eclipsed by the tariffs Wednesday, it could fade entirely, it could have an impact in Toronto and Vancouver (the NDP should come out swinging), and there is an outside chance it has real legs.

Rumour is that Carney may resign, because he does not want to give up his cushy gigs in big bankdom.

I can’t see that happening during the campaign or after a win. If he loses, yes-—esp. as he has raised expectations.

Wow, it is strange how Liberals get away with this, but if it were a conservative.... The same old double standard applies in the minds of voters.

Right now the NDP vote is being cannibalized by the Liberals. I can’t quite explain what is going on, but voters want a clear choice to manage the tariffs and they think Carney is the answer.

You would think that, but that seems to be the scuttlebutt coming from those connected to the Ottawa scene.

We will see if it’s true. He might stay the leader during the campaign, but be mostly absent.

Albertans aren’t ready to leave, unfortunately. They haven’t abused enough or really understand the scope of their losses under the Federal liberals.

What I believe will happen is that there will be unified energy policy across North America. This will help protect Alberta from liberal machinations.

If Carney wins, and goes after Oil with net zero, that will be it.

Carney looks & acts as a lackluster monotone leader, just no excitement to the public. Hense sleepy Joe!

I really do appreciate the New Media doing their DD on very interesting findings!

How many Albertans do you know well, and how many do you know casually?

My money is on Jonty. I’d be interested in A.C.’s take-—he’s an observant outsider who has lived there.

I don’t think Albertans will want to join the US. They know they would do well with President Trump, but would hate being under an eventual Democrat Ad.inistration. Instead, they will seek their own independence. Saskatchewan is actually more conservative than Alberta and would gladly join Alberta in a newly born free state. The key would be to find a way to pull enough of BC away from Vancouver to ensure a transportation path for the new nation’s oil and gas to the Pacific. Vancouver would be left to seek its destiny as New Hong Kong.

I don’t know Joe Tay but a conservative would probably be more welcome in China than in neo-marxist liberal-run Toronto

The riding is northern GTA-—with this slip the CPC may stand a chance there.

Looks like Prince Rupert - Prince George rail line is the route, but I’m not familiar with the area.

Evidently, his CPP handler has told Marx Carney, that he cannot yet throw CCP asset Chiang under the bus.

Even the bought and paid for MSM seems to be asking questions. This is not going away. It may disappear when Trump’s tariffs kick in on April 2, but I expect a lot more destructive leaks to follow.

I saw a report today, pointing out how much money the Lieberals are giving to the pollsters. Not so surprising that the Lieberals are leading in virtually every poll.

The interesting thing is, Polievre is getting thousands to his rallies, even in DT Vancouver, and everywhere in the GTA, and even in Quebec. Carnage is getting in the low hundreds. The opening of Carnage’s riding campaign office had perhaps 50 people!

There is still four weeks to go, so much can change, but it seems the momentum is swinging to Polievre, frustrating the bought and paid for Msm and pollsters, to no end!

I am hoping that Pam Bondi releases further details on Epstein and Maxwell’s clients very soon. I would not be surprised to see Carnage quit mid-campaign, and quickly fly to HIS CHOSEN COUNTRY, Ireland! That would leave the country in an even bigger flustercuck but, it would be worth it! It would be an absolute sweep by the Cons!

One can dream!
