Seven months after taking office as president of Columbia University, Katherine Armstrong announced her resignation.

Armstrong took on the role of interim president of Columbia University last August, after the previous president, Minouche Shafik, resigned following allegations of her mishandling of anti-Semitism on campus.

The resignation of the interim president comes just days after Armstrong announced that she decided to adopt the Trump administration's demands regarding the fight against anti-Semitism at Columbia University. The American government revoked grants totaling $400 million from the university after Columbia's administration failed to protect Jewish students who suffered from violence, intimidation, and discrimination since the outbreak of the war in Gaza.

She lied to Trump or to the Columbia faculty, or both. What a loser.

IMHO: Columbia has to draw water from its own deep wells now. No more bilking taxpayers in addition to whomever else. That’s why she had to “resign.”

Yeah, and her resignation has nothing to do with that. /sarc

The board at Columbia didn't order her to resign because she lied to the Feds, they in-effect fired her because she was stupid enough to admit it in a Zoom meeting.

Being allowed to resign is NOT good enough for what she has done.

Having worked from 1969-2017 at two major universities, I can tell you they all tend to have presidents and deans they want to get rid of, so they push them to apply to other places themselves and then praise them to the skies to get them out. Then the next place figures out the new one is a dud and works to get them out. Praises them lavishly.

They have wonderful golden parachutes promised them or they don’t accept the new job.

Student: Where will I turn to get my DEI and climate change training if the beloved university president is gone? Where is my safe space? Make sure the puppy and the stuffed giraffe are there. I feel the panic coming.

Dismantle the entire place a ship it to Gaza where it belongs. They quit giving a decent education there decades ago. It just a cash cow for hard core leftists now.

Yes! Absolutely. Whenever an executive of any organization tells their staff, "I will deny saying this, but..., To be honest, To be fair, I really regret to say this, but...."

Get up and leave immediately. My HR Director asked me why I leave meetings? I told her I can't afford legal representation on my own dime. I don't want to be a party to any litigation we could be facing with these people in charge. She smiled and admitted I had a valid concern.

Once you lie to your employees, you're done. It doesn't matter what it's about. The employees know now you will lie in difficult situations and cannot be trusted.

Ivy League used to be a respected brand. Those days are over, and nobody inside their bubble is able to fix it.

She’s going back to her job as CEO of the Columbia Medical Center and dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences. The latter is a tenured position.

She’s been replaced by Claire Schiffman, Jay Carney’s wife.
Remember that duo?

Sounds like she figured out that she was in over her head running Columbia as a Hamass Jew Killer Training Camp.
