A poll conducted between March 6-9 “of likely voters in the upcoming November 2026 California gubernatorial race found that 48 percent said they would “consider” voting for a Republican for governor, according to 790 KABC radio.
The poll was conducted by national pollster David Wolfson, according to 790 KABC.
Per 790 KABC, the poll also found that 83 percent of voters feel that “gas prices are too high” in the state, and almost 25 percent of Californians believe that biological males who identify as transgender “should compete in female sports,” among other issues:
• 83% of voters said gas prices are too high in California
• 73% support fully funding anti-crime Prop. 36, which State Democrat Leaders have refused to do
• 72% feel homelessness still is a big problem after years of Democrat control Sacramento
• 71% believe the Democrats in charge have not addressed the state’s high cost of living
• 69% think Democrats in Sacramento have not done enough to bring down energy/utility costs
• 62% support a “full independent investigation” of the recent Los Angeles Wildfires
• Only 24% of Californians think males (transgender) should compete in female sports

You’ll need a lot more than just governor
Yep, have to clear out all of Sacramento. Need to DOGE the whole state government.
not if the ballot counters have anything to say about it
A Republican Governor would be great, but any chance of turning California around would require a legislature that is not super majority democrat, which is unlikely.
With a super majority the Democrats will just block everything like the did with the Terminator.
Exactly. California has a vote by mail, so they will stuff the ballot box.
I am not usually a cynic on FR but concerning this, I’ll believe it when I see it.
Oh, yeah. The rot has permeated the government and the Guv is nothing more than a figurehead.
The perfect campaign ad would show what California was like under republicans It was the golden state, beautiful, clean, wholesome,, happy, cost of living reasonable and then show what it’s like under democrat politicians.
Collectivists have all the power as long as they control the mountains of uncontrolled ballots.
Pronto.
Now watch as some corporate media-shill dweep in love with the deep state become the R nominee...
not if the ballot counters have anything to say about it”
The rats have welded the door shut. It is even illegal to ask for ID to vote. It would take huge R majority vote to overcome the rigg which would never happen.
This will never happen. The apathy and stupidity is beyond belief. Ask a Californian how many stars on the American Flag…
Got that right.
The good news is CA may lose up to three Electoral Votes that will be going FL/TX in 5 years. A couple other blue states are leaning towards losing a seat also.
Now if could only rid ourselves of some RINOs/GOPe in the meantime in 2026.
Exactly right. CA, like OR and WA, on our “Left Coast” have supermajority control of their Legislature by Dems. A Republican Governor is, essentially, a neutered dog. They may well have the backing of a majority of voters (Rep aligned and Dems looking for change), but he/she will be unable to effect any real change. Look around and you’ll find that whenever there’s a huge opposing force in the Legislature, the Governor’s agenda is frustrated at every turn. Nothing changes and the Governor becomes a one-termer, at best. Worse, they are impeached. Any voters looking for real change in their State will need to focus on the down ballot Senate and Reps races, first. Nothing grows on infertile ground and a Democrat legislature is a wasteland.
Send money, guns and lawyers. Flipping any statewide office in CA could be the first domino.
As illegals move to sanctuary states and overwhelm the locals, attitudes will start shifting.
I just hope a good candidate jumps into the race.
