British engineering giant Rolls-Royce is reportedly preparing to increase manufacturing production in the United States to avoid tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
London’s Daily Telegraph reported that Rolls-Royce is currently drafting contingency plans to avoid the impact of trade restrictions imposed by the Trump administration. The plans are said to include ramping up production in America and hiring more workers in the United States. According to the report, the aerospace and defence company is considering shifting production from countries impacted by the trade war, such as China, Canada, and Mexico, where it currently has around 6,000 workers.

Doesn’t sound too harmful to me!
But But Tariffs are bad bad bad says the commie media..NO, tariffs are a means of negotiations, once Trump gets what he wants the tariffs are stopped..why should countries be allowed to tariff us 10 percent on cars but we cant tariff them right back, so they can rip us off but we cant return the favor?
A Google search tells me they sell 2,000 cars a year in the USA.
The Grey Poupon is optional.
As much as anything it will be Illegal to make a RR in England soon. Unlike the idiots at Jaguar RR knows their customers do not want to be forced to buy an EV.
Sir Keir Stalin hardest hit.
Who buys those cars? I’ve seen only a few in my lifetime. Does the tiny niche market justify a production facility here?
It is good we’re getting some jobs
Doesn’t Rolls Royce already make their jet engines in Mississippi?
There are two Rolls-Royce companies, one is like General Electric, and the other makes cars. We’re talking about is the one that’s like GE, they make jet engines, power plant turbines, etc.
I’m guessing this is their defense division. Jet engines for aircraft and such, not motor cars.

Jet engines for airliners. That is their main business....
Jet engines... very big market.

They do a whole lot more than cars. They did a lot work in the shipyard I used to work at (props and propulsion systems). I did their safety orientation. I always asked them if they could get me a discount on one of their cars. Not one of them found that the least bit funny, but it cracked me up every time.
Ah, yes. I forgot about that. They make most excellent turbines!
They sell a lot of aircraft turbines.
Winning
They make a lot of stuff besides cars. With Boeing sucking the DEI hard, there may be an increased demand for their jet engines. The article says they did about $7bln of business with the US last year.
The article didn’t identify if it was cars or engines that are used in many commercial aircraft. I see many RR’s in Florida all over the state. They will likely export them since they don’t have EU salaries and restrictions to comply with. Just speculating.
