PANAMA CITY (AP) — Migrants from Afghanistan, Russia, Iran and China deported from the United States and dropped into limbo in Panama hopped door-to-door at embassies and consulates this week in a desperate attempt to seek asylum in any country that would accept them.
The focus of international humanitarian concern just weeks before, the deportees now say they’re increasingly worried that with little legal and humanitarian assistance and no clear pathway forward offered by authorities, they may be forgotten.
“After this, we don’t know what we’ll do,” said 29-year-old Hayatullah Omagh, who fled Afghanistan in 2022 after the Taliban takeover.
In February, the United States deported nearly 300 people from mostly Asian nations to Panama. The Central American ally was supposed to be a stopover for migrants from countries that were more challenging for the U.S. to deport to as the Trump administration tried to accelerate deportations. Some agreed to voluntarily return to their countries from Panama, but others refused out of fear of persecution and were sent to a remote camp in the Darien jungle for weeks.
Earlier this month, Panama released those remaining migrants from the camp, giving them one month to leave Panama.
Álvaro Botero, among those advocating for the migrants at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, said he wasn’t surprised.
“It’s crucial that these people are not forgotten,” Botero said. “They never asked to be sent to Panama, and now they’re in Panama with no idea what to do, without knowing what their future will be and unable to return to their countries.”
The Trump administration has simultaneously closed legal pathways to the U.S. at its southern border, ramped up its deportation program, suspended its refugee resettlement program, as well as funding for organizations that could potentially aid the migrants now stuck in Panama.

The world’s smallest violin, and it’s playing just for you.
“Álvaro Botero, among those advocating for the migrants at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights”
Hopefully Alvaro is not advocating on our dime.
Why doesn’t the whole world want them?
Let me get this straight,
You people violate our laws to
invade our country and insist
you are being mistreated?
I’m an American and If I illegally entered Mexico
or Canada
I know, I’d be in jail if caught.
I find it hard to feel sorrow for criminals
from other nations in my country.
GO HOME! and fix those problems there!
“Why doesn’t the whole world want them?”
Let’s narrow the focus. My little Florida town has about three thousand residents. Most of them own their homes, have a job and send their kids to school. Others rent. Others are criminals. The schools are set to handle the number of students the town has. While there are probably a bunch of jobs open, the reason they aren’t filled is they don’t offer enough to attract applicants.
Now, let’s throw in some people from another country. They don’t speak English. They don’t have any skills. They do have children. So, the town would have to absorb them. How? Up to this point the government gave them generous handouts. That causes the price of rent to go up. The taxes increased to hire more teachers. The Sheriff had to hire more people to handle the new vagrants and arrests.
There just isn’t a “place” for people who literally don’t fit. Now, expand this to a nation. Sure, you can drop them in San Francisco and Chicago, but the micro problems I described, while less visible, are nonetheless still there.
Kind of like the film “Casablanca”.
Or the bar scene in Star Wars.

Most of these “migrants” don’t even know what a toilet is. They are the bottom of the barrel, unskilled, illiterate and diseased (i.e. democrat voters).
Now add millions and millions of this type to a city near you. This is what Trump has to deal with, thanks to the filthy degenerate corrupt Chinese Puppet Biden.
Have they considered apologizing to the Taliban?
There's plenty of room in Antarctica. Move the penguins out of the way and have a ball.

Balmy weather, are the beaches good ?
I’m shocked Panama doesn’t give them a phone, a preloaded debit card, a 5 star luxury hotel room and a date in 2030 to meet with a judge before they are kicked out.
EC
I hear Ukraine needs workers…..
We are perhaps missing out on an opportunity to form the American Marine Foreign Legion, and have them stationed in Okinawa, Japan under the command and control of Marine Forces Pacific and Djibouti under Marine Forces Africa.
We could fill out two regiments on the cheap, already forward deployed. Give us six years, we’ll put you on a path towards citizenship. The Japan regiment fills out 3rd Marine Division, which is never at full strength.
Mr. Hegseth, let’s do it. Increase American lethality.
Learn Spanish and learn to work ‘cause you ain’t getting welfare in Panama.
Choices, looks like they made bad ones. Please reprint this story in the illegals areas so they know what to expect if they don’t leave on their own.
They’re not here!
Winning.
“My country is fkd up.
I demand you let me in to fix yours.”
