No backup generators for critical infrastructure? Oh, that's right, the UK is a third world country.

Maybe Starmer sent all their electricity to Ukraine, and didn’t tell anybody.

Was it a terrorist attack? I usually assume it was, until I can verify otherwise.

I always assume the opposite. Incompetence unless proven otherwise. And I'm almost always right.

"Terrorism" is a popular accusation on FR, but in reality, it's rarely terrorism. Ayn Rand predicted correctly on this. Atlas is shrugging.

Heathrow Airport is CLOSED: Travellers warned do NOT come to terminals with chaos exp 🔥

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14521965/amp/Heathrow-Airport-CLOSED-fire-travel-chaos.html

Heathrow Airport will be closed all day on Friday - sparking worldwide travel chaos and days of mayhem for hundreds of thousands of people.

The UK’s busiest airport has been forced to shut after its main electrical substation exploded and set alight less than two miles away in Hayes.

Around 200,000 people travel through Heathrow every day and the chaos from today’s closure is also expected to have drawn out effects over the weekend.

At least 1,357 flights have already been cancelled, diverted or delayed. Some planes already on their way London managed to land at other UK airports.

But dozens of flights have been diverted to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Lyon and other European cities.

More than 16,300 homes in west London are also suffering from blackouts as the fire at the electrical substation continues to rage.

The busy airport, which sees a plane land or take off every 45 seconds, announced its closure at 2am on Friday and ordered passengers not to come to its terminals.

Thought ever bit of critical infrastructure had backup generators for life safety events since Y2K, at least that is how expensive it is to the taxpayers. This is a nation that rents its ICBMs, has a freakish king, and cannot control its foreign immigration.

Wartime or winter storm there is no reason a large building should not survive in its mission perhaps less air conditioning. Perhaps some humid air might make it inside, but really outside 4 days a year, the AC needs for hethrow are only the food courts. Shut down the golden arches and the fish and chips and keep the people moving around the world.

It was mistaken for a Tesla charging station.

its main electrical substation exploded

if that was the main power transformer they are in a world of hurt

1...no spare transformer available

2...transformers now made in China

3...because of huge demand for power for AI and bitcoin mining long delivery times.
