Ben & Jerry’s has said parent firm Unilever has sacked its chief executive amid rows over the ice cream brand’s political activism.
The US brand said in a court filing that David Stever, who led the firm for almost two years, was removed from his post early this month.
Ben & Jerry’s alleged in a filing to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York that Unilever, the UK-based consumer giant, wanted to stop the boss making political statements.

So what’s the problem? He’s supposed to sell ice team; if he wants to do politics quit and run for office or start a PAC.
I recall one of the two, Ben or Jerry, once saying about their employees’ politics “ If I can fire a person for making bad ice cream, I can fire them for being a bad person.”
It’ll still be a cold day in Hell before I ever buy any Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
The top executives in a company look at the bottom line. When you are practically telling more than half of your potential customers to stay away then you are harming the company. They think of that lost revenue. I know I refuse to buy a product from B&J’s ice cream. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I’ve never even tried it because I’ve long known of their political activism. I will never buy their products.
,,, social engineering merged with consumer products just isn’t working out.
I used to buy B&J’s chocolate fudge brownie ice cream ALL THE TIME, I haven’t touched a product from them for at least 8 years they hate us so SCREW THEM!! Our side of the isle are the ones that can afford their VERY EXPENSIVE ice cream we are the producers and workers in this nation!! Welfare recipients can’t afford their garbage let them rot in hell!!!
They’re a day late and a dollar short - damage done.
It’s a cold day here in New England.
You don’t realize how heavily those welfare EBT cards are loaded. The average EBT card buys more than I could really afford when I was raising a house full of kids.
How much in USAID did Ben & Jerry’s receive?
I bought it some back in the 90s before all this crap became apparent. Even visited the home up in VT when I was up there for a wedding. Haven’t bought any in 20-25 years.
Here Here!
Ben & Jerry's makes the best ice cream on the market. It's the truth. They might be commies, but their ice cream is second to none.
This being said, I don't buy much of it. If I do, my kids will eat it all in about three bites
I liked their Heath Bar Crunch. But not so much i would overlook their Loony left politics.
Two Iiberal Vermont Jews - Ala Bernie Sanders - although these two had some business smarts and made a fortune but now seem bent on throwing it away.
FAFO
I only buy Haegan das ice cream.
I admit my tastes are different. When I ate Ben & Jerry’s, it always tasted like every condiment on the shelf was mixed in, so when I ate it, it just tasted overly...seasoned with sweet ingredients.
My current favorite is Haagen Daaz Vanilla Swiss Almond. Bitterweet chocolate covered almonds mixed into a quality vanilla ice cream.
I can taste the different and separate individual ingredients, the bittersweet chocolate covering the crunchy almonds, contrasted to the vanilla smooth cream with the almost undetectable grainy ground up vanilla bean mixed into it.
That is up my alley. I know others prefer a different ice cream approach.
