Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he needs more details about peace proposals following President Donald Trump’s call with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, warning that "For us, the red line is the recognition of the Ukrainian temporarily occupied territories as Russian."

Zelenskyy announced he plans to speak with Trump Wednesday after the president told Fox News’ "The Ingraham Angle" that he spent nearly two hours on the phone Tuesday with Putin.

"We will discuss the details of the next steps with him," Zelenskyy said. "For us, the red line is the recognition of the Ukrainian temporarily occupied territories as Russian. We will not go for it."

Kind of like Hitler making demands while the allies are a few miles out from Berlin.

If this corrupt piece of crap Zelensky demands details, he should participate in the negotiations.

Pooh pooh to you Z. You have 2500 NATO officers surrounded by Russia in Kursk. Feeling pressured? Z, you never should have let your country be used by NATO in a proxy war against Russia, but I guess you got rich off it, didn’t you? Was it worth it, letting all those hopeful young 18 year old boys get chewed up in your sickening war? Do you love being famous? You fake opportunist sociopath.

You don’t lay out red lines pipsqueak. You will take what we give you and if you refuse, you don’t get even that. Then we’ll see how you do on the battlefield without our help.

Trump and Putin are just beginning negotiations.
So the Ukie Global Homo will have to wait.
And Trump will not deal with the Ukie Dictator Directly.
Kellogg and/or Rubio will deal with Zelensky.

Kind of like ‘Z’ doesn’t want peace because stupid Americans have given him hundreds of billions in cash and now he’s looking for more of the same from stupid Europeans?

The key players don’t want him in the negotiations yet because he is unable to control his outageous behavior. He keeps moving the goalposts and is unstable.

It is fascinating that this “Biden war” — with the EU having a far greater population than our USA — is now supposed to be President's Trump's to solve, all the while the actual belligerents -- both non-NATO nations -- are not dealing with each other.

It's rather like a divorce lawyer being asked to complete a case in which neither actual divorcing party is willing to make some sort of agreement, no matter how odious.

This wasn't and isn't President Trump's war. Besides, if we are to accept the media and some previous "president," it's already over.

'Putin's already lost the war,' says Biden Le Monde, 14 July 2023

Or pitin, when he has made incremental gains after 3 years.
If Putin could make it to Kiev on his own he would have.

I am sure we will disagree, but I believe pitin is not in a good place. After 3 years what does he have to show for it? 21% interest rates( and that is the bank rate), 10% inflation, wealth fund rapidly depleting if not gone, Soviet legacy equipment mostly gone, military exports gone and replaced with imports, energy infrastructure damaged and deteriorating, and hundreds of thousands of his citizens killed, wounded, and maimed.

If you want WW2 analogies how about this, 3 years after hitler invaded Russia, the rest of the allies(excluding soviets) agree that Germany and Soviet Union will have a ceasefire and Germany gets to keep what it has, and the Soviets can’t receive anymore aid, train anymore troops, and accept Germany’s goodwill as a guarantee

I see it that way as well. At some point he will have to accept the reality of the situation, or be replaced.

Another tidbit of info, from the German invasion of Soviet Union to the end of the war was 3 years 11 months. Russia is already 3 years and one month into their SVO.
10 months to go to equal WW2.

The most interesting part of the entire phone call is how Trump told us that power plants were to be a major topic of conversation. Myself and others jumped to presume that the issue was the enormous nuclear power plant which at Russia has controlled for about 2 years and which does not produce any electricity for Ukraine or Europe or Russia.

But that turns out not to be what Trump was talking about. He wasn’t talking about nuclear power plants under Russian control. He was talking about nuclear power plants under Ukraine control. Throughout all of Ukraine.

To my recall about 6 or 8 months ago, a ceasefire on energy facilities was proposed by Ukraine. That will not cast zelensky in a positive light viewed by Trump, who really is the only one that matters.

It is also very much a Trump win. The attacks on Russian refineries and oil structures can’t do very much significant damage with such small payloads of explosives, but it looks like an obstacle to global oil supply in the view of Trump, and the pro Ukraine anti-russia folks on his staff will be inclined to imagine Ukraine strikes on those facilities are more significant than they are. Which reinforces the Trump perspective that this reduces global supply. Lower oil prices are hugely important to Trump because they serve as an engine for inflation.

Zelinsky cannot allow himself to be pictured as obstructive to the Trump goal of peace. Microsecond that happens, that pause in support will reassert itself. Rubio and waltz would rush to Kiev to try desperately to create an impression of Zelensky being pro peace, but it will be a very difficult thing to do.

I think Trump’s staff are not entirely aligned with his position, and to avoid conflict he sends them off to do something else. That’s how Kellogg ceased to be an envoy for the Ukraine Russia war, and became an invoice of Ukraine only. He could not be trusted to align himself with Trump’s perspective, and make no mistake here, Trump’s perspective is the only one that matters.

In dealing with Mr. Zelenskyy, Hillary might have been better. If he got in her way, he would have an “Accident” or go so despondent he shoots himself in the head—twice.
