it will empower Democrats as the "anti-war" party
it will split some freedom-caucus GOP members, for both budgetary and war-powers reasons, when margins in Congress are already thin
It will spike energy prices and stoke inflation
it will blow out the budget
It will distract Americans from everything Trump is doing domestically, particularly DOGE.
like all US involvement in the mid-east the goals will be vague and commitment very much open-ended.
And like most wars, it will have big unintended consequences

This is Peace through strenth to get Iran to the tabel. He did the same thing with North Lorea.
They can't do anything about it militarily
They have to give face to "pro-arab pro-palestinian solidarity." The Arab mob in the street would easily riot over some perceived offense by the El-Sisi Govt.
In spite of this, they don't want any Palestinian refugees being pushed on them.
Trump is still paying Egypt the approx. $1.5-2.0 billion in yearly aid from US gov.
So when faced with their obvious conflicted interests and hypocrisy, it's best to keep quiet.
Then we ought to help Israel build a canal from Rafah (on the Mediterranean) to Eliat (Gulf of Aquaba, Red Sea). That wouldn't fix the Houthi problem (either way you have to enter/exit through the south end of the Red Sea by Yemen). Build it would tell Egypt that we nor anyone else needs their canal.
We need to talk to Iran.
Iran should be allowed to reopen its DC embassy.
