"In order to effectively implement the call of the US president, an appropriate order is needed from the military and political leadership of Ukraine to its military units to lay down their weapons and surrender," the Russian leader said.

But Putin has declared these fighters terrorists and thus not available for Geneva protections. If Trump can get Putin to at least treat these UKI forces soldiers vs terrorists, then maybe....

What I’m reading is that they are out of Russia, just across the border. The estimated 30% who made it out, that is. The rest are dead or prisoners. The way out was under Russian fire control. Notice that Ukraine never mentions any numbers related to troop losses. I don’t blame them.
