New imagery has appeared of one of China’s new ‘invasion barges,’ which involves a temporary pier that can be connected to other vessels via a barge, or series of barges, with jack-up supports for more stability. The development of jack-up barges is widely seen as part of preparations for a possible invasion of Taiwan by the People’s Republic of China.

China sees Russia getting away with taking land and they want their turn. As the world economy crumbles, expect to see more of this stuff. All you have to do, to get cash, land, farms, new citizens etc. is just hit people really hard over the head. Beats working.

The purpose seem to be an attempt to expand the “landing zone” beyond the very limited beaches. That lack of landing beaches is a serious crimp in invasion options. This sort of thing COULD get past the ubiquitous low cliffs elsewhere typical of the Taiwan coast.

We would do well to realize that truth and what we consider honor etc. are expendable to many other cultures. Deceit is an acceptable strategy to be used against ones enemies in many cultures. Although once a war has begun we are fine with stealth and secrecy (e.g. D-day), we would never preemptively attack someone without warning and while maintaining diplomatic relations with them. That is not true of much of the world.

Never mind the 27 navies; there is no TSMC without the people who run it. Without them, the world stops running. It will be very interesting to see if they can make it work in Arizona. I have my doubts there.

We had Neocons on TV going NON-STOP in INSISTING that Russia could never defeat our “Wonder Weapons” in Ukraine, yet ALL of them have been defeated. I have NO DOUBT that they’ll be wrong again on Taiwan, if we insist on giving China a free ride over there.
