March 13 (Reuters) - A California federal judge on Thursday ordered six U.S. agencies to reinstate thousands of recently-hired employees who were fired as part of President Donald Trump's purge of the federal workforce. The ruling made by U.S. District Judge William Alsup during a hearing in San Francisco applies to the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of Interior and the Treasury Department.

I would start looking into these judges for any skeletons.

I'm guessing the impetus is to have a campaign issue for 2026, even though some of these injunctions imho are clearly violating separation of powers.

Provide a tub of sand to pound and let them try and enforce these orders.

How about no,. The judicial is a third co-equal branch, not above the executive and the executive runs his branch independently of judicial.

Wow, to overturn any Presidential EO, you only need to find ONE nut case liberal judge somewhere in this big country? Interesting, sigh.

Gee.

RIFs are a fact of life in gov contracting.

Nobody ever got a judge to reinstate thousands of aerospace workers in 1945, 1971 or 1992.

Just hadda suck it up.

The mass firings were a stupid idea from the beginning and destined to end this way. This is why there is a RIF process. It has defined processes and has been judged as “legal.” It would have accomplished the exact same thing as probies are the first to go and have near zero protection. But they had to go high and right.

Judge is a wackadoodle.

This is the proper forum to address probationary federal employee issues:

https://www.mspb.gov/

The decision is blatant judicial misconduct and must be ignored.

They have gotten more and more outrages in their overreach. This one is the worst. In no way does this hack have the authority to do this. Trump must refuse.

alt-President William Alsup Steps Up To Take The Reins Of The Executive Branch

Alsup's district, the Northern District of California, is also known as "The New Supreme Court", because of all the weighty, country-running decisions that come out of there.

That’s 80% of the judges on the bench, what a low bar. Next thing you know the dims will scream Russia collusion, how dare he communicate with Putin for peace in the Ukraine, and call for summary impeachment by a judge.

👌

There was a right way to do this that eliminated all this BS and they just went and made 💩 up. It will bite them in the 🫏. “Whackadoodle” or not.

This bozo clerked for Supreme Court Justice William O Douglass, a low-rent unethical bum if there ever was one and an extreme leftist. How a low-level district judge in San Francisco can order the rehiring of “probationary” federal employees is beyond me.

Didn’t Trump just sign an EO saying that he will continue with his agenda until this stuff gets to SCOTUS?

Wrong.

Firing probationary employees is absolutely valid—and has been upheld in the proper forum given in the link I gave you.

The administration knows a lot more about this topic than you do.

They chose wisely.
