Any Agreements on Ukraine to Be Implemented on Russian Terms — Russian Senator
TASS ^ | 3/12/25

Konstantin Kosachev said that Vladimir Zelensky is "on the back foot"

MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Ukraine agrees with what the United States is telling them, "bowing and serving," but any agreements will be implemented on Moscow's terms, Russian Federation Council Vice Speaker Konstantin Kosachev said about the US-Ukrainian talks in Jeddah.

"The conditions are American, not Ukrainian. Ukrainians agree with what they are told. And at the same time, they bow and seek favor - take the formula ‘we will sign the resources agreement, when it is convenient for Washington,’ for one," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

"Russia is advancing, and this is why it will be different with Russia. Any agreements (with all understanding of the need for compromises) are on our terms, not American ones. And this is not our faith in easy victory, but understanding that real agreements are still being written there, at the front. This is something that Washington should also understand."

The vice speaker said that Vladimir Zelensky is "on the back foot."

Kosachev noted that "the most important thing now is not to interfere with the Russian-US negotiations with unrelated comments" and "let the negotiators work."

Published yesterday but relevant to today's news about Russia's non-acceptance of a ceasefire.

Actually not relevant. It’s like when RT runs with a story about a US Congress drawing up articles of impeachment against Trump and you look and it’s Pimp Cane Al Greene.

Since you probably have very little insight into the Russian Senate I would suggest this is completely useless.

It clearly explains the Russian position, i.e. there will be a ceasefire when it suits us and we won't be dictated to.

I'd call that relevant.

The Trump administration is fuming right now over Russia’s continued war-at-any-cost philosophy. Russia just uttered that they may consider a 30 days cease-fire deal next year in 2026.

Russia is a warmongering machine. Their industry would collapse without permanent wars.

Neo-clown Talkng Points.

The little Ukrainian muppet in the green t-shirt has been mouthing off about "no ceasefire" for a couple of weeks.

If we’re going to arm Ukraine, why not just give them back their nukes?

This is not correct. Russia ramped up their military production because of this war (indeed, it took a bit of time to get it up to speed). Before Ukraine provoked this conflict, Russia has not had (or needed) a war based economy in a long time.

For starters, because they never had their own nukes. They were always Russian (Soviet) nukes and the Russians are for sure not giving them “back”.

In theory, Ukraine could have attempted to crack the Kazbek system, but it would have been extremely difficult, if not practically impossible, for several key reasons:

1. Lack of Access to Launch Codes – The Soviet nuclear command-and-control system was designed to prevent unauthorized use. The actual launch codes were controlled by Russia through the Cheget nuclear briefcases, which were in the hands of Russian leadership, not Ukraine.

2. Kazbek's Security Architecture – The Kazbek system, which controlled the Soviet nuclear arsenal, used multiple layers of encryption and authentication, making unauthorized access nearly impossible without insider cooperation from Russian authorities.

3. Technical Complexity – Even if Ukraine had bypassed or reverse-engineered some elements of the control system, launching nuclear weapons required coordination with missile silos and bomber crews, who were trained under Soviet protocols and likely still loyal to Russian command.

4. International Pressure and Diplomacy – Ukraine was under intense diplomatic pressure from the United States and other Western nations to relinquish its nuclear arsenal in exchange for security guarantees (as outlined in the Budapest Memorandum). Any attempt to crack the system would have provoked severe international consequences.

While Ukraine had physical possession of the nuclear warheads, the inability to launch them independently meant they were more of a diplomatic bargaining chip than a usable military asset.

"The conditions are American, not Ukrainian. Ukrainians agree with what they are told. And at the same time, they bow and seek favor - take the formula ‘we will sign the resources agreement, when it is convenient for Washington,’ for one,"

Again TASS reports a statement which although authored by a Russian appears to be accurate while at the same time deriding the Ukrainian regime.

The Zelensky regime is not involved in the negotiations.

If it were, the Russians would not even think about negotiations.
