NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — Gov. Ned Lamont hit the road on Wednesday, visiting New Britain to promote a $300 million plan he says will deliver free preschool for many of the state’s working and middle class families.

“We’ve got to make sure we take the lead here in the state of Connecticut,” Lamont said in remarks delivered at a preschool center on the campus of Central Connecticut State University.

Should be promoted kids staying at home.

Pre school is a waste of tax dollars.

Pre school is good when the parents are smoking drugs and forget they have kids that eat breakfast. Other than that, useless.

Gov. Lamont promotes $300 million plan for free preschool

Gov. Lamont (D-CT) has the right idea whereas Musk (and his DOGE cost-cutting team) is totally wrong. The U.S. needs more wasteful spending, not less. What is wrong with Rocket Man Bad & Orange Man Bad?

"Spend, spend, spend," I say. I'm with the Deranged Democrats on this one.

Free preschool?? Then why does it cost $300 million.

Kids belong playing with other little ones at home....or simply bonding with their parents.

As it stands...it's pretty much free babysitting.

“We’ve got to make sure we take the lead here in the state of Connecticut,”

Off a cliff? No we don’t.

Not if your goal is to indoctrinate them as early as possible

“Lamont is a real POS.”

If that’s what Connecticut wants to do, I have no problem with that. But there should be absolutely NO funding from US taxpayers. Connecticut can do whatever they want with their own money.

I suspect this is all about getting access to kids to start their “transition”.

That is awesome. How did Lamont persuade all those educators and school administrators to work for free?

Using an off-budget endowment fund seeded with $300 million from the state’s alleged budget surplus...

What could go wrong.

Bet all those jobs would be unionized public sector.

Guess what this is really about...

Exactly. The last thing kids need is more years of institutionalization.

I’m sure they will be government run pre-schools teaching DEI.
Like a true communist, Lamont wants to get them early.

Pre-school is for people who want to birth children without raising them. It’s not for taxpaying parents who want to prepare their own children well for entry into first grade.
