ICC has no jurisdiction over the Philippines.

Even if it did, they violated their own rules regarding extradition.

This is garbage.

When will the ICC arrest William Henry Gates IV and Anthony Stephen Fauci for their crimes against humanity?

Phillipine Government arrested him on behalf of thr ICC?

Aren’t they undermining their own national sovereignty?

The ICC is criminal.

I have a feeling the Filipinos handed him over just to get rid of a political opponent. Just a guess.

Philippine National Police coordinated with Interpol to arrest Duterte.

Not familiar with their politics. But I'll imagine that the opposing political party would want to have him arrested. But they knew they can't do it in the Philippines because he's still a popular figure. But he'll be tried at the Hague.

Problem's solved

It is the Marcos family taking out the Duterte family; very dangerous for the Philippines.

In dramatic events on Tuesday, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s government arrested and deported his predecessor Rodrigo Duterte to face the International Criminal Court in The Hague. The move came just over a month after the impeachment of his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, by allies of Marcos. A Senate trial, which would determine whether she gets removed from office, is scheduled to begin in July.

The push by Marcos to sideline his main political opponents marks a gamble that could easily backfire, starting with legislative elections in May that will determine how much he can accomplish in the final three years of his term. The Dutertes still hold clout, with Sara a top candidate in polls to win the next presidential vote in 2028.

Philippines has been a declared American ally for decades AFIK. Time to carry out the American Servicemembers Protection Act of 2002 (AKA Invade the Hague Act), which applies to declared American allies.

Funny, the ICC never arrested Castro for his litany of crimes against humanity.

Trump should send in Marines to extract him and bring him to Mar-A-Lago and throw him a party.

30 thousand civilians killed? Not really.

I wonder if they are counting my neighbors killed by drug addicts who robbed them at home.

Many in that number were known drug pushers. True, they were killed in police raids, but often they were armed at the times. And few Filipinos except the elites, objected since when Duterte took over, the Philippines was in danger of becoming a narco state and drug crimes were making it unsafe for ordinary folks. Few Filipinos cried at the dead, because we knew too many families destroyed by drugs.

The back story: The CIA is behind the propaganda and the human rights types. Duterte knew a lot of the drugs in Davao when he was the mayor, was by CIA linked operatives. And as president he tried to make nice with China, but stopped doing this when China lied and didn't keep their promises.

that broad who won a Nobel prize for opposing him had her web news site funded by the CIA via Omidyar foundation, a CIA front that helped destabilize the Ukraine. But foreigners aren't allowed to fund the media here, so it was illegal. So she changed her story that the money was a gift, but then they pointed out she didn't pay taxes on this income. But the US and European press pretended she was a human rights paragon.

One wishes DOGE would connect the dots on this fake prosecution funded by CIA money.

A large part of the Philippines still support him. This is what the democrats plan to do with future republican leaders.
