Trump Education Department announces 60 more universities under scrutiny over antisemitism

The Department of Education warned 60 colleges and universities Monday that they could be next to have federal funding taken away over antisemitic discrimination and harassment.
Those named and shamed included six of the eight Ivy League institutions — Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton and Yale — and local schools Rutgers, Rutgers-Newark, Sarah Lawrence, three branches of the State University of New York, The New School and Wellesley.
Monday’s announcement comes three days after the Trump administration’s federal antisemitism task force pulled back $400 million in grants and contracts from Columbia following monthslong Jew-hating demonstrations following the Oct. 7, 2023, attack against Israel by Hamas.
This is a developing story. Check back for more information.

Good. Give all that money to Hillsdale and see what Larry Arne can do with it.

Arab and other students have a right to protest Israeli actions, even when Israeli actions are justified.
The activist students have no right to intimidate Jewish students.
If the law wouldn’t tolerate an action because the victim is black, the same should be true if the victim is Jewish.

Harding University, David Lipscomb and Freed-Hardeman could do wonders with just a little bit of that.

Places like Columbia have already been on the radar of their accreditation body (Middle States Commission on Higher Education) since at least last Summer. More here:

This is a big deal. Especially for schools with smaller endowments.

You must be from Jackson, Tennessee.
(A guy from my karate class got a professorship at Freed-Hardeman, BTW)

Looks like SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Purchase might be two of the SUNY schools.

Seems like UNC is the only Southern school on the list.

>>”Arab and other students have a right to protest Israeli actions, even when Israeli actions are justified.”
I would qualify that and say that any citizen has the right to protest Israeli actions (or anything else, for that matter) as long as they do so peacefully. But those with visas are here as guests and can have their visas revoked for a variety of reasons.
To come to a foreign nation as a guest and then become a political activist when you’re not a citizen is wrong, whether it’s legal or not. You really haven’t earned the right to insert yourself into domestic politics if you are here as a guest, IMO. If you don’t like the direction this is taking, then go back to your home country.

People involved should be given lengthy prison sentences. On the other hand, where are the Jewish organizations here and around the world that are actually DOING SOMETHING THEMSELVES to combat these filthy Fascists??? Are they going to remain silent pacifists again???
