Refugees or draft dodgers?

It is striking how many Ukrainians sought refuge in Russia.

There are many Russian speaking Ukrainians. I assume those are the ones in Russia.

That was my thought as well. I was struck by the shear number of people who ostensibly chose to embrace their ethnicity over their nationality. I wonder how many German Americans fled to Germany in World War II.

It seems like I read a blurb about POTUS canceling special treatment programs for Ukrainian refugees. These programs offered temporary asylum without hearings. I certainly can be wrong, but for some reason, the number of around 700,000 sticks in my mind. Immediate deportation was ordered.

But, I wonder if those affected did not commit a crime in the USA, note that they crossed into the USA legally under grace of Biden Administration, if they would be deported. I know two such refugees located in Florida and Iowa.

Maybe someone can put up verification or correction.

Given the nature of this conflict it is disgusting that you refer to them as “draft-dodgers”.

1) there is conscription in Ukraine
2) As Tucker Carolson and many others have pointed out, there seems to be many Ukrainian military age men living it up in other European countries.
3) Draft dodger was not meant as a pejorative in this case.

A large population in Ukraine were overrun in the East and South, leaving them in the Russian zone. Getting out of the war zone was difficult if one had to cross the lines. For a few months there was a movement of refugees, letting people in the Russian zone to ross to the Ukrainian side, organized by the Ukrainians and Russians, but AFAIK the Russians cancelled it and started moving them into Russia.

Not really. Many in Ukraine prefer Russia, especially in eastern Ukraine.

Now they need to do one with Muslim “refugees” in Europe.

These countries should all end the war so they can send all those refugees back. But no, these European countries want the war to continue. Do they want more refugees?

Go to the warehouses in Allentown, PA into the Lehigh Valley - the docks are full of Military age Ukrainians loading trucks and working the warehouses.

There are companies actively recruiting these guys because they have a special work visa.

Thank you for the link, and the more accurate numbers, my FRiend. I knew I had seen something in the news. The story says 240,000 and I wonder how accurate that is, and from where the number came.

Refugees or draft dodgers?

Ukraine is not a country. It has almost never existed as an independent state. It was simply formed out of the ashes of Soviet Marxism. For the most part, the people are materialist, atomized, cut off from history, culture and any identity of themselves - ie) highly cynical - just as marxists wanted it.

So in this vacuum, the first to arise were oligarchs, who simply were able to take over any productive assets of the central state

Then on both sides arose radical nationalists, trying to revive the near dead embers of either Russian nationalism or Ukraine nationalism. Unfortunately for Ukraine radical nationalists, the nearest touchstone which had any recent relevance was Stepan Bandera and his OUN Nationalists, who sided with the Nazis in WWII.

So you can see how easy it was for the US deep-state, CIA/USAID, and EU to manipulate the political situation in Ukraine in 2013 and 2014.

Don't forget the many millions who left before 2022, because they had the money and means and saw the place called Ukraine had no future. They may return if there is lasting peace and they see financial gain - but they certainly will not return to fight.

A surprisingly large amount that I see in Poland, Romania and Germany. Most are families that allows have military aged males in them. I rarely see women and children alone. And most have brand new Ukrainian passports.

Hell Poland tried to recruit enough exiles for a Ukrainian Brigade and they couldn’t get enough recruits to fill it. From one million refugees.
