Trump’s Embrace of Putin Has Germany Thinking of Nuclear Weapons
Wall Street Journal ^ | March 7 2025 | Bertrand Benoit

"BERLIN—President Trump’s embrace of Russia is causing Europeans to rethink their security and giving currency to an idea the U.S. has long sought to avoid: a nuclear-armed Germany.

Friedrich Merz, who is poised to become Germany’s next chancellor, said Berlin should start talks about expanding the French and British nuclear deterrents to cover Europe, according to an interview the conservative politician did with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung weekly. .... On the nuclear side, researchers and some politicians say Berlin’s fastest route to rebuilding a deterrent could be to replicate its arrangement with the U.S. This could see French nuclear bombers stationed in Germany with the mandate to protect the country or German pilots flying German planes armed with French nuclear weapons, with Paris holding the key to their use.

I note that I predicted this :) Wait for much more along these lines. Something WILL be implemented, its really just been days, but already its another world. When Japan says something it will be epic. Consequences of the failure of the Pax Americana.

You really are such a bore. Literally they should be taking control of their own defense. Your perspective and self proclaimed prophetic-ness is self aggrandizing narcissism.

Get yourself to Ukraine. Drench your own hands into the blood and gore of war. And if your personal destiny it to be maimed or die …. so be it.

Just don’t haunt these pages trying to foist the costs of war onto others. Were not interested.

My “propheticness” is a gift. I used to note the likelihood of IT project failure after the organizing meeting. I would keep my mouth shut and note this in a sealed envelope.

I share this freely. Thank me.

“Your perspective and self proclaimed prophetic-ness is self aggrandizing narcissism.”

It annoys you but the universe doesn’t care. What matters is - am I right?

“Were not interested.”

You bother to respond, a.
You bother to deny, b.
You try emotional arguments, c.

Hmm.

What will happen will happen and neither you nor I are going to matter.

I too predicted that the unfathomable course embarked upon by the Trump administration would lead to this. The prediction was easy but the consequences will not be easy to bear when we are isolated and alone in a world of proliferating nukes.

This is what I wrote in the wake of the ambush in the Oval Office:

Even before this episode they had been communicating among themselves about the best course of action to proceed without the United States in NATO. They had begun to analyze the costs of setting up a European army apart from American influence. I believe that the high expense of conventional armies will push Europe to conclude that there security must be had through nuclear deterrence. It is now the common belief that America is an unreliable ally, at least while Trump was president, who will not adhere to its pledge to defend member states against invasion especially will it retaliate in a nuclear exchange, thus initiating deterrent value in America's nuclear umbrella. The implications of nuclear proliferation are sobering and should be apparent to everyone.

Thank God we have Trump, who won’t allow Europe to drag us into WW III and flush our future on this forever war.

If Europe wants to suicide their economies and futures on this gambit that’s their problem

Obtaining and maintaining nukes is not something easily done. Regardless using the threat of nuclearizing to force another country to do your bidding is an evil as well and should not be rewarded.

I have been repeating over and over Europe is an enemy, this only further demonstrates that.

They left freedom, Christianity and the western values that go with those a long time ago.

America needs to accept we are already isolated and surrounded by globalist who seek to subjugate us and tear us down.

“So that eventual WWIII could end up with the US and Russia vs. the Euros and China?!?”

Everything is chaotic right now. Its been days. But it COULD fall out like that. A multipolar world, that Trump just endorsed, is unpredictable. Think the physics “Three Body Problem”.

So the lazy EU which cannot focus on producing the artillery, the munitions, the material required to resist the Russian invasion of Ukraine . . . want to "do it on the cheap:" nuclear.

They don't want to fight in the arena. They want to not be bothered, but have cause (the nuclear gambit) to "strongly" use word salad.

The French, the Germans, the Norwegians, the Belgians, the Danes . . . have had 2 years to produce 2,700,000 per year - the "mere annual amount of 155mm artillery shells" needed by Ukraine.

That would have at leased matched that category vs. the Russians.

Russia does hold elections and Putin is one of the most popular elected leaders out there, so that could also end up with the more vs. the less/un- democratic countries.
