'Good luck Justin!': Trump updates America on tariffs talks with Trudeau

Trump imposed 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada yesterday, citing frustrations with both nations' efforts to help secure their respective borders and crack down on fentanyl trafficking.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday confirmed a call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss a resolution to the tariff standoff.

Trump imposed 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada yesterday, citing frustrations with both nations' efforts to help secure their respective borders and crack down on fentanyl trafficking.

"Justin Trudeau, of Canada, called me to ask what could be done about Tariffs. I told him that many people have died from Fentanyl that came through the Borders of Canada and Mexico, and nothing has convinced me that it has stopped," Trump posted on Truth Social. "He said that it’s gotten better, but I said, “That’s not good enough.” The call ended in a “somewhat” friendly manner! He was unable to tell me when the Canadian Election is taking place, which made me curious, like, what’s going on here? I then realized he is trying to use this issue to stay in power. Good luck Justin!"

"For anyone who is interested, I also told Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada that he largely caused the problems we have with them because of his Weak Border Policies, which allowed tremendous amounts of Fentanyl, and Illegal Aliens, to pour into the United States. These Policies are responsible for the death of many people!" he continued.

The call came as the stock market's major indices appear to be rebounding from Tuesday falls when the tariffs took effect.

Justin trying to play the tough guy is a laugh.

A lot of sissy-slapping if he’s in a fight.

Increase tariffs to 100%.

Screw them, close both borders.

America doesn’t need anything from people screwing us.

Canada’s leaders are embarrassing themselves.

They think we don’t know what has been going on with 200 to
nearly 300% tariffs against us.

Wait until their impacted businesses start giving them
some feedback.

I was today years old when I found out Canada doesn't have elections on a fixed date like we do.

I looked it up, and sure enough they "might" schedule an election for October 20, 2025.

The oil price is projecting a major slow down in the US economy due to a tariff war. Welcome to a Trump born recession.

I read some idiot FReeper (fill in the blank) the other day post “it’s not that much fentanyl that comes in from Canada”.

Seriously.

Look at the oil price today. It is factoring in a North American recession.

There's some benefit to that. We've been suffering from inflation due to Bidenomics.

Why isn’t it factoring in OPEC’s increase in flow, or expectation of Trump US flow increase, and of course, the reversal of sanctions on Russia that will increase their oil exports.
